immediate cause of the disease. It spccddy'pro-

T HIS compound ivilfho found serviceable in
urrcAting nud preventing decay iu teeth;
keeping tlm teeth and gums in a healthy ami clean
cotidifum; sweetening thu breath; removing tar*
tar, and relieving pain caused by carious teeth.
Few discoveries iu modern chemistry promise
more important results than that nf Kreosote, hy
Dr. Ueichuiibach, nu eminent chemist of Blaus-
ko, in Monrovia. It is a highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, and is analogous td
charcoal iu its antiseptic, properties, hut fur more
powerful as a corrective nud preventive or de*
cay. Clmrconl, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable ns a denti
frice, on account of it* insolubility, and tho risk
of minute particle* remaining between the teette
mid producing injury. Kreosote, on thn contra
ry, cannot be Jinhle to thi* objection, ntul pones'
ses, to n much greater extent, the niiti*entic ami
purifying properties of tlm former. Tire trial*
which have been itiudo ivitii it, in this country
und Europe have proved it* efficacy.
It l» strongly recommended by the Faculty os
tlie best preventive against caries in teeth. Td
sweeten the breath, rendered offensive by decay*
ed lecih, the use of tobacco, or other causes, and
to nrrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent.
Filin's compound Kreosote Tooth Hath, com'
bines the virtues nf Kreosote, nf the strength
adapted for this purpose, with other substance*
known to lm highly advantageous iu whitening
and preserving the teeth.
It t* confidently recommended to tlm public a*
