T HIS compound will bo found serviceable in
arresting nnd preventing decay in tenth;
keeping tlm teeth and gams iu a Imalthy and clean
condition ; sweetening the breath; removing tar
tar, and relieving pnin caused by cariotrs teeth.
Few discoveries in modern chemistry promiito
more important results limn that ofKreosote, by
Dr. Keichunhacli, an cmiimut chemist of Blaus-
ko s iu Monrovia. Ills a highly rectified liquid
product, obtained from wood, and isnnalogousto
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, but far more
powerful as a corrective mid preventive of de
cay. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansing properties, is objectionable ns n denti
frice, on account ofits insolubility, mid the risk
of minuto pnrticle* remaining between tlm teeth
und producing injury. Kreosole, on tlm contra
ry, cannot be liable to tbis objection, nud posses
ses, to n much greater extent, tim antiseptic and
purifying properties of tim former. Tlm trials
which have been made with it in this country
aud Europe have proved it* cffioncy.
It is strongly recommended by tlm Faculty ns
tho best preventive against caries in teeth. To
sweeten tlm breath, rendered offensive by decay
ed tiro wro aC TOkacca, ox ctirov mires, and
to arrest decay itself, it stands nro-ominerit.
EUis's compound Krcosotc Tooth Wash, com
bines tiro virtues of Kruosnte, of tlm strength
adapted for this purpose, with other snhstnnr.es
known tn Im highly advantageous in whitening
am) preserving tho tenth.
It is confidently recommended to tlm publico*
a valuable compound, which may tie used daily
with great advantage to tim teeth nud gums, nt tho
sama lium leaving an agreeable sensation in* the
mouth. There is no aetd in tbis wash, nor any
ingredients entering into its composition, but
such as are highly boneficinl to the teeth.
It has been examined und used by several b“
