Tlie Luchin Cordial,
BEWARE OF FRAUD.
T HE unprecedented popularity of this benefi
cent aud inestimable CORDIAL in the U-
nited States, luis induced one or more unprinci
pled persons to manufacture spurious catchpenny
articles, under various names, and purporting to
produce the same effects but which, In reality, pro
duce no other effect than that of swindling tho
public; nml to give a yet more plausible appear
ance of their cupidity, feoro persons affect that
their wretched nostrums have keen in use in
England and else whore fora number of years t
whereas, until the illustrious Dr. Mnguin made
his wonderful discovery, no euro for barrenness
had been ever thought of, or at least made pub
lic; and all those then iu use for the restoration
oftfm decayed virile powers were found to ho of
hut little avail. Thus, all nostrums advertised
for barrenness or the cure of impotciicy, blit Dr.
Mngnin's uro mere catchpenny humbugs, which
would never have been thought of but for the op-
inamnco and great celebrity oftlie LUCINA
CORDIAL. As no counterfeit ofthe name is
at present iu circulation, it may in general be a
sufficient caution for the purchaser to ask for the
Lucina Cordial, but us further insurance,it would
o as well to note that its nnmn, Lucina Cordial,
i Elixir of Love, is stamped in the glass of each
beetle—tlie combined arms of France and ilia U-
nited Slates.are on the outward envelope—-that
a Fleur do Lis is printed on-the nccompnnyiug
directions, and bpuulifolly cmlinssed on the snow
bills banging in the stores of those who havo tho
genuine article for sale.
The celebrity of the Lucina Cordial being such
as it is, it is scarcely necessary to add that it is the
only efficient remedy for barrenness, nnd the res
toration of decayed virile powers'ever known;
and thatin the cure of Fluor Albus,Gleet, obstruc
ted, difficult or painful Menstrantinti, the incon
tinence oftlie urine, or the involuntary discharge
thereof, its superiority over every other medicine
is not only decided, lint unquestionable. For

FT11IESE medicines have long bem known and

to which the human frame is liable.
The proprietor rejoices in tho opportunity af
forded by the universal diffusion ofthe daily press
for placing his VEGETABLE LIFE PILLS
within the knowledge and roach ofovery individ
ual in tho community. Unlike tlm host of per
nicious quackeries which boast of vegetahlo in
gredients, the Life Pills aro purely aud solely
vegetable, aud contain neither mercury, antimo
ny, arsenic, nor any other mineral in any form
whatever. They arc entirely composed of ex
tracts from rare and powerful plants, the virtues
of which though long known to several Indian
tribes, nnd recently to some eminent pharmaceu
tical chemists nre altogether unknown to tlm ig
norant pretenders to medical sciunce, and were
never before administered jnso happily effica
cious n combination.
THE PHCENIX BITTERS nre so called, be-
cause they possess tlm power nffestoring the ex
piring corners of health, to glowing vigor through-
oat the ranutitation, as the Phattix is said fa he
restored to lifo from tlm ashes of its own dissolu
tion. Tho IMimnix Bitters aro entirely vogetable,
composed of roots found only in certain purts of
the western country, which will iufidiblv cure
FEVERS AND AGUES ofnll kinds; wifi never
fail to eradicate entirely all tlio ufiectsofmercury
infinitely sooner than the most powerful prepar
ations o'fSarsnparilln. and will immediately cure
Ihe determination of BLOOD TO TIIE HEAD;
never foils in sickness incident to young females:
nml will be found a certain remedy iu all coses of
nervous debility mfd weakness of the most im
paired constitutions.
As a remedy fur Chronic and Inflammatory
Rheumatism, tho efficacy of the . I'hamix Bitters
will be demonstrated hv the uro ofa sinsln bottle.
The usual doso oi theso Bitters is half a wiuo
glass full; in water or wine, nnd this quantity may
be taken two or threo times a day, nbout half an
hour before meals, or a less quantity limy bo ta
ken at nil times. To those who nre afflicted with
indigestion afler meals, these Bitters will provo
th
eases fur which they nre recommended. Jl is al
so proper to observe, that in his younger years,
the subscriber himseif suffered tho most deplora
ble ill health, arising entirely from great derange
ment of bis digestive organs, induced by ton in
tense application to study at college, and acquir
ing n kti'—dcdgo of bis profession. His own suf
ferings ci ly induced him to investigate the cause
of them, a.id to endeavor to discover tho best re
medies. His experience, in connexion with die
observations lie lias made in a great number of
E ast mortem examinations, has irresistibly drawn
iui to the conclusion, that the digestive organs
are tho scat of n great share of human disease—
dial tlie diseased nr deranged state of them is the
cauxp of mncli of our suffering; for these art vi
tal orgaiiH, supplying tlie system with nourish
ment, as well us purifying it, nnd preserving its
healthy condition. Besides, the sympathy exist
ing between the digestive organs aud every oth
er part ofthe system is very irrcat, tli rough the
connexion oftlio nerves. Wlion the* diguslivo
organs are deranged or diseased, the blood is
poisoned by the absorption of acrid, putrid, and
undigested matter from tlm stomach nnd intes
tines; aud this matter is not no completely thrown
nlfnt tlm different umuuctnrio* in diseoso us iu
iieullli. As tlm blood is circulated through the
system with wonderful rapidity for it* nourish
ment, it immediately begins to suffer whenever
die blood becomes contaminated. Hence, if we
desire or expect health, wo must keep tho foun
tains or life pure. S.J. SPOONER, M.D.

Few difenveries in modern chemistry promise
more important results than that of Kroonute, hy
Dr. Keichtnibnch, an eminent chemist of Rians-
ko, in Monrovia. It is n highly rectified liquid
product, ohtninud from wood, nuld i»analogous to
charcoal in its antiseptic properties, hut far more
powerful as a correclivn nnd preventive of do-
ray. Charcoal, notwithstanding its well known
cleansiug properties, is objectionable ns a denti
frice, on account of its insolubility, nnd the risk
of minute pnrticles remaining between the teeth
and producing injury. Krcnsoto, on tlie contra
ry. cannot bo liable to this objection, and posses
ses, to a much greater extent, the antiseptic and
purifying properties of the former. The trials
which liave been made with it. in this country

It is strongly recommended by tho Faculty as
the best preventive against caries in teeth. To
sweeten tlio breath, rendered offensive hy decay
ed tecih, the use of tobacco, or other causes, and
to arrest decay itself, it stands pre-eminent.
Ellis's cotn/tound Krcosote Tooth Hash, com
