FIRMNESS.
Wall, let him go, end let him »tay—
I do net nun to die;
I guess he'll And that I can lira
Without him, If I try.
He thought to frighten mo With frowns,
So terrible and black—
He’ll stay away a thousand year*
Before I aak him back !
He Hid that I htJ acted wrong,
And fooliahly betide;
I went forget him after that—
I wouldn’t If I died. ...
If I was wrong, what right had he
Te be to Croat with me t
I know I'm not an angel qutle—
I don’t pretend to be.
He had another sweetheart once,
And now when we fall out,
He always taytjhe was not cross,
And that she didn’t pout.
It is enough to rax a saint—
It’s more than I can bear;
I wish that girl of his was—
Well, I don’t care where.
lie thinks that she was grotty, too—
Was beautiful as good ;
I wonder if she’d got him back
Again, now, if sho contd ?
I know she would, and there sho is—
She lires almost in sight;
And now it’s after nino o’clock—
Perhaps he’s there to-night.
I’d almost write to him to come—
But then I’ve said I won’t;
I do not care so much, but she
Shan’t have him if I don’t;
Besides, I know that I was wrong,
And he was in the right;
I guess I’ll tell him so -and then—
I wish he’d come to-night.

Opinions of the Press.
“Musical Festivals’' several times postponed,
compelling purchasers of tickets to wait mouths
for the distribution, has impaired public confidence
n such affairs. The only fair system of distribu
tion is the old and popular one of Sealed Tickets,
stating the prize, which wilt be delivered immedi
ately, on payment of the one dollar. That is the
plan of H. BARTON & CO., at 599 Broadway,
the most attractive place of the kind now in oper
ation. They are doing the largest business, and
deserve their success. Yon can not draw a
SIOO,OOO farm there, but have a reasonable chance
for a good prize, as we know rnanv that have been
drawn, ana tiie firm is reliable. —Morning Adver
tiser, Oct. Ablh, 1867.
The New York Gift Company are distributing
many valuable prizes. We nave examined their
manuer of doing business and know them to boa
fair dealing firm. Their plan is more satisfactory
tliau “Presentation Festivals,” as they draw every
day, and the subscriber need not pay for the prize
drawn, unless suited.— Gazelle , Oct. 24 th. 1867.
The Gift establishment of H. Barton & Cos., at
599 Broadway, is daily attracting crowds of visi
tors to witness the drawing process. Tho invest
ment is but 25 cents for the chance, and the prize
drawn, if satisfactory, is immediately delivered
for one dollar. A friend of ours, last week, drew
a SSOO prize, which lie promptly received.—Trans
cript, Sept. 2 Dili, 1867.
