PAIN KILLER.
WE BEG LEAVE TO CALL THE ATTEN
TION of the public to this long tested and
unrivalled
FAMILY MEDICINE.
The PAIN KILLER is a purely vegetable
compound ; and while it U a most efficient Rem
edy for Pain, it is a perfectly safe medicine, even
in the most unskillful bauds, for
SUMMER ciqMPPAINT,
or any other form of Bowel Disease in children
or adults. It is an almost certain cure, and has,
without doubt, boeu more successful in curing
the various kinds of
CHOLERA
than any other known remedy, or even tho most
skillful physician. Iu India, Africa and China,
where this dreadful disease is ever more or less
prevalent, tho
PAIN KILLER
is considered by the natives, as well as European
residents in those climates,
A SURE REMEDY.
Asa Tonic for the Stomach, it is unrivalled.
A few doses will roliove severo cases of
INDIGESTION,
and it is often a perfect care for
DYSPEPSIA
in its most aggravated farms. Its tonie and
stimulating uroperties, arousing the system to
vigorous actioD, render it a most effectual
ours for
COLDS AND COUGHS,
when u?cd according to directions.
For external application, 4t is unsurpassed by
any medical preparation known.
RHEUMATISM
and Neuralgic Affections are quickly relieved
and oDen cured by it. Any soreness in the
Muscles or Joints can be relieved by its applica
tion. It cures iu3tantly the most violent
TOOTHACHE.
It should always bo kept near at hand, to be
used in cases of severe
BURNS OR SCALDS.
If applied immediately, according to directions,
it will give instant relief, and prevent blistering.
It is peculiarly adapted to the wants of
SEAMEN,
and persons making sea voyages, and no vessel
should sail without a supply of it. One captain
writes us:
“I have mado se/eral voyages—often with
emigrants—and though I keep a good medicine
chest, and have several times had u good deal o(
sickness on board, I have found the Pain Killer so
efficient in all cases as to entirely preclude the
use of all other medicines,”
One positive proof of its efficacy is, that the
sales have constantly increased, and wholly
upon its own morits. The effect of the Pain
Killer upon the patient, when taken internally
in cases of Colds, Cough, Bowel Complaint,
Cholera, Dysentery, and other affections of the
system, has been truly wonderful, and has won
for it a name among the medical preparations
that can. never be forgotten. Its success in re
moving Tain, as an exteraal remedy, in cases of
Turns, Bruises, Sores; Sprains, Cuts, Sting of
Insects, and other causes of suffering, has so
cured for it such a host of testimony, as an
almost infallible remedy, fhW it will be handed
down to posterity as ono of the greatest medical
discoveries of tho nineteenth century. The
magical effects .of tho Pain Killer, when taken
or used according to directions, are certain.
You have only to be sure that ym buy tho
genuine article and adhere to the directions in
its use, and you will admit its wonderful medi
cinal properties.
The genuine Perry Davis’ Pain Killer is now
put up in pannol bottles with the words Davis
Vegetable Pain Killer blown in the glass ; and
with two steel engraved labels on each bottle—
one an excellent likeness of Perry Davis, the
original inventor of tho medicine, tho other a
steel engraved note of hand—none others can be
relied upon as genuine.

A. J. Uobhrts S? Cos , Atlanta, Ga.:
Gentlemen—l am well pleased wilhthe result
of the use of the Double Rejined Poudrette ”
on my crops. I tried it on both corn and cotton,
and am satisfied wherever it was applied the yiela
was more than double what it would have been
without it. I regret exceedingly my not using it
more extensively the present year, but will try
to make up my loss by purchasing a larger
quantity next spring. I regard it as the cheapest,
most reliable, and easiest managed fertilizer with
in my knowledge, aud cheerfully recommend it (as
I liave tried it thoroughly) to the farmers of this
section, and particularly to those planting cotton,
from the fuct of its causing it to mature from ten
days to two w’eeks earlier than it would vvithou
tiie use of the Poudrette. I also used it on my
garden, and found it of much benefit to all kinds of
plants.
Very respectfully, etc.,
G. 8. OGLESBY.
Extract from a letter received from Professor
Martin, of Hampden, Sidney College, Virginia,
dated July Ist. 1867.
The Double Refined Poudrette is operating like
a charm on uiy Crop, and attracting universal
attention from all beholders. I am already
satisfied that it is the cheapest and surest renovator
of our worn-out lands.
High Shoals, Ga., October 4,1807.
James R. Dky, Esq.:
Sir—-The Double Refined Poudrette I bought
for two other parties in connection wit h myself—
one of them used it on cotton and corn, and thinks
it answered finely ; the other put it oil cotton, on
very poor ground, and thinks it doubled his crop.
I used it on corn. It answered finely, and was
thought t»y the hand that cultivated the crop to
he fully equal to Rhode’s Super Phosphate. I
also used it on about an acre of cotton , and lam
clearly of opinion that it is the best and cheapest
fertilizer in use, and I expect to order several
tons this winter.
Yours, very respectfully,
ISAAC POWELL.
Ellaviile, Schley Cos., Ga., Oct. 4, 1867.
The Double Refined Poudrette purchased of
you last Spring, I think, increased my crop of
cotton 150 pounds per acre ; put it upon worn out
pine land, at the rate of 200 pounds per acre,
drilled in with Gotten seed.
Yours, etc., S. MONTGOMERY.
Salisbury, N C., Aug. 10, 1807
James R Dky, Esq.:
Dear Sir —I can safely say that your Double
Refined Poudrette is far superior to any fertilizer
for Cotton ; for I have given it a fair trial this
season.
Yours, JEIIU FOSTER, Jr.
Savannah, Ga Sept. 25,1807.
James It. i/ky. Esq.,Pres’t.:
Dear Sir —I used the Double Refined Poudrette
bought of yon last Spring on Corn I think it
ini reused the yield one half. I consider it an
excellent manure.

Ridgeway, S. C , Sept. 21, 18(17.
Mr. James R. Dev,.-
Sir—l applied the Double Refined Poudrette
by itself, anu ill combination with other fertilizers,
oh COTTON, and am pleased with it; so much
so that jt, is ray present intention to purchase a
larger supply of you next year to apply to my
Cotton crop.
Yours, very respectfully,

Sir—ln reply to your inquiry of the results of
our experience in the use of yourimproved Pond
rette, purchased of you for this year's COTTON
CROP, we would beg leave to sav that the pies
ent season lias been one quite unfavorable to the
action of all fertilizers.
Several kinds of manures were used by us,
with the exception of your Poudrette, with little
or no effect to the crop
WHERE THE POUDRETTE WAS USED
IT GAVE US NEAR HALF A BALE MORE

TO OPEN MUCH EARLIER, and we would
therefore recommend tho same as a concentrated

improvement to tile soil.
