VEGETABLE
PAIN KILLEIi.
WE BEG LEAVE TO CALL THE ATTEN
TION of the public to this long tested and
unrivalled
FAMILY MEDICINE.
The PAIN KILLER la a purely vegetable
compound; and while it is % most efficient Rem
edy for Pain, it is a perfectly safe medicine, even
in the most unskillful hand*} for
SUMMER GOMPPAINT,
or any other form of Bowel Discaso in childron
or adults. It is an almost certain cure, and has,
without doubt, been more successful in curing
tho various kinds of
CHOLERA
than any other known remedy, or oven tho most
skillful physioian. Iu India, Africa and China,
where this dreadful disease is over more or less
prevalent, the
PAIN KILLER
is considered by the natives, as well as European
residents in those climates;
A SURE REMEDY.
Asa Tonic for tho Stomach, it is unrivalled.
A few doses will relieve severe cases of
INDIGESTION,
and it is often a perfect cure for
DYSPEPSIA
in its most aggravated forms. Its tonic and
stimulating properties, arousing the system to
vigorous action, render it a most effectual
cure for
COLDS AND COUGHS,
when used according to directions.
For external application, it is unsurpassed by
any medical preparation knov’n.
RHEUMATISM
and Neuralgic Affections arc quickly relieved
and of>en curod by it. Any soreness in the
Muscles or Joints can be rolieved by its applica
tion. It cures instantly tho most violent
TOOTHACHE.
It should always bo kept near at band, to be
used in casos of severe
BURNS OR SCALDS.
If applied immediately, according to directions,
it will give instant relief, and prevent blistering.
It is peculiarly adapted to the wants of
SEAMEN,
and persons making sea voyages, and no vessel
should sail without a supply of it. One captain
writes us:
“I have made sororal voyages—ofton with
emigrants—and though I kocp a good medicine
chest, and have several times had a good deal of
sickness on board, I havo found tbo Pain Killor so
efficient in all cases as to entirely preclude tho
use of all other medicines.”
One positive proof of its efficacy is, that the
sales have constantly increased, and wholly
upon its own merits. Tho effect of tho Pain
Killer upon the patient, when taken internally
in cases of Colds, Cough, Bowel Complaints,
Cholera, Dysentery, and other affections of tho
system, has beeu truly wonderful, and has won
for it a numo aiaoDg the medical preparations
that can never bo forgotten. Its success in re
moving Pain, as an external rsmedy’, in cases of
Burns, Bruises, Sores, Sprang. Out*, S#ng of
Insects, and other causes of suffering, has se
cured for it such a host of testimony, as an
almost infallible remedy, that it will be banded
down to posterity as one of the greatest medical
discoveries of the nineteenth century. The
magical effects of tho Pain Killer, when taken
or used according to directions, arc certain.
You havo only to be sure that you buy tho
genuine article and adhere to tho directions in
its use, and you will admit its wonderful medi
cinal properties.
The genuine Perry Davis’ Pain Killer is now
put up in pannel bottles with the words Davis
Vegetable Pain Killer blown in the glass ; and
with two steel engraved labels ou each bottle—
one an excellent likeness of Perry Davis, the
original inventor of the medicine, the other a
steel engraved note of hand—none others can be
relied upon as genuine.

A. J. Roberts <s• Cos , Atlanta, Ga.:
Gentlemen—l am well pleased withthe result
of the use of the “ Double Rejined Pondretle”
on my crops. I tried it, on both corn and cotton,
and am satisfied wherever it was applied the yield
was more than double what it would have been
without it. I regret exceedingly my not using it
more extensively Hie present year, but will try
to make up my loss by purchasing a larger
quantity next spring. I regard it as the cheapest,
most reliable, and easiest mauuged fertilizer with
in my knowledge, and cheerfully recommend it (as
I have tried it thoroughly) to the farmers of this
section, aud particularly to those planting cotton,
from tho fact of its causing it to mature from ten
days to two weeks earlier than it would withou
the use of the l’oudrette. I also used it on my
garden, aud found it of much benslit to all kinds of
plants.
Very respectfhlly, etc.,
G. S. OGLESBY.

Tho Doable Refined Poailrette is operating like
a charm ou my Crop, and attracting universal
attention from all beholders. I am already
satisfied that it is the ctieapest aud surest renovator
of our worn-out lands.
High Shoals, Ga., October 1, 1867.
James R. Dey, Esq.:
Sir—The Double Refined Poudrette I bought
for two other parties in connection with myself—
one of them used it on cotton and corn, and’thinks
it answered finely ; the other put it on cotton, on
very poor ground, and thinks it doubled his crop.
1 used it oil coni. It answered finely, and was
thought oy the hand that cultivated the crop to
tie fully equal to Rhode’s Super Phosphate. 1
also used it on about an acre of cotton , and lam
clearly of opinion that it is the best and cheapest
fertilizer in use, and I expect to order several
tons this winter.
Yours, very respectfully,
ISAAC POWELL.
Elliyvilie, Schley Cos., Ga., Oct. 4,1867.
The Double Relined Poudrette purchased of
yon last Spring, I think, increased my crop of
cotton 1511 pounds per acre ; put it upon worn out
pine land, at the rate of 20U pounds per acre,
drilled in with cotton seed.
Yours, etc., S. MONTGOMERY.
Salisbury, N. C., Aug. 10, 1807
James R. Dky, Esq.:
Dear Sir—l can safely say that your Double
Refined Poudrette is far superior to any fertilizer
for Cotton ; for I have given it a fair trial this
season.
Yours, JEIIU FOSTER, Jr.
Savannah, Ga Sept. 25,1867.
James R. dky. Esq.,Pres’t.:
Dear Sir—l nseil the Double Refined Poudrette
bought of yon but Spring on Corn I think it
iiureused the yield one half. I consider it an
excellent manure.

Ridgeway, S. C , Sept. 21, 1867.
Mr. James R. Dev.:
Sir—l applied the Double Refined Poudrette
by itself, and in combination with other fertilizers,
on COTTON, and am pleased with it; so much
so that it is my present intention to purchase a
larger supply of you next year to apply to my
Cotton crop.
Yours, very respectfully,

CROP, we would beg leave to say that the pies
ent season Ims been one quile unfavorable to the
action of ail fertilizers.
Several kinds of manures were used hy us,
with tlie exception of your Poudrette, with little
or no cfl’ect. to the crop
WHERE THE POUDRETTE WAS USED
IT GAVE US NEAR HALF A BALE MORE
PER ACRE, AND CAUSED THE COTTON
TO OPEN MUCH EARLIER, and we would
therefore recommend the same as a concentrated
manure for the growth of Cotton, as well as
improvement to the soil.
Yours, very respectfully,
HENRY P. STULTS & BRO.
