POETRY OK TUE SOSE.
llow very odd that poets should suppose
There l» no poetry about the nose,
When plain aa i» a men's nose upon his face,
A noseless face would leok poetic grace ;
Noses have sympathy, a lover knows ;
Noses aro always touched when lips aro kissing
And who would care to kiss ir nose was missing ?
Why, what would he tho fragrance of a rose—
And where would bo the mortal means of telling
Whether a rile or wholesome odor flows
Around us, if we owned no sense of smelling ?
I know a nose —a nose no other knows
'Neath starry eyes, o'er ruby lips it grows—
There's beauty in its form, and music in its blows!

PROFESSOR ROBERTS, LATE OF NEW
Orleans and Memphis, the great .Magnetic
Healer, will treat all maimer of Diseases and
Afflictions, not incurable, at the AUGUSTA
HOTEL, Augusta, Ga., until May Ist, 1868.
By Animal Magnetism we claim that the dis
eased aud deranged action of the nervous and
vacular systems aro restored to a perfect equilib
rium nine'll more readily than by any other means
known to the medical world, either in the present
or tho past ages. ‘ Nature must do the healing,"
is the saying of every sensible aud honest physi
cian. and that "all we can do in case of sickness
iu to aid Nature." This Prof. Roberts aims to do
by the great science of Animal Magnetism, and
that, too, without drugs! It is the only system of
the medication that has God as its authority and
example, or that can he sustained by science or
common sense.
Consultation free. Letters to be answered must
be accompanied witli a stamp. For testimonials
see or send lor circular.
Prof. Roberts treats successfully the following
named diseaseg. together with niauy other forms
of human maladies not herein specified, viz:
All diseases of the Brain, Rheumatism, Nervous
Debility, Neuralgia, Weak Spine, Curvature of
tho Spine, Inflamed Soro Eyes, Paralysis, Weak
Eyes, Partial Blindness, Dropsical Tumors,Ulcers,
Scrofula iu its varied forms, Consumption, Dia

Voice, Palpitation of the Heart, Diseases of the
Liver, Kidneys, aud Bowels, Dyspepsia, Falling
of the Womb, Suppressed Menses, Catarrh, all
kinds oi Sexual Diseases, Impurities of the Blood,
etc., etc. Paralysis and Deafness are the most
uncertain of all diseases to cure, although patients
afflicted even with these terrible maladies will be
more or less benefitted, if not. cured, by Magnetic
Treatment.

August*, Ga., March 12,1808.
I hereby certify that I have been partially para
lyzed for tour years. Four months of that timo I
was not able to make a step, or even so much as
move one of my toes ou either foot, and was en
tirely destitute of feeling in my legs.
I was examined by forty eight Confederate
Army Surgeons, all pronouncing me incurable—
having Curvature of the Spine, which produced
paralysis. I commenced taking treatment of Pro
lessor Roberts, March 4th, 1808, and now, after
taking nine treatments, by Animal Magnetism , I
leel like a “new creature!" I can now stand up,
and walk any desired distance , without crutches
or canes , which was utterly impossible for more
than four years before seeing Dr. Roberts.
For reputation and responsibility. I refer those
interested to Mr. W. A. Ramsey. Mr. Edward
Rodgers, Mr. John M. Clark. Mr. Nicholas Young
blood. and Mr. John Houston, all of Augusta, Ga.
Mv address is Edgefield Courthouse. S. C.

Augusta, Ga. , Feb. SKRh, 1808.
This is to certify that I have been treated by
Prof. Roberts for a dropsical tumor iu the left side,
with which I have been afflicted for the last seven
years, and am confident that I am entirely cured,
not having experienced any of the unpleasant
symptoms whi-n I did before the treatment, aud
this by animal magnetism.

ilns cerlilies tlmt 1 have been a great “ulierer
with Rheumatism for five years, my left ankle
being much swollen, very stiff and painful. I
was treated twice only 0v Dr. Roberts, at the
Augusta Hotel, February IBth and 2lltb, 1808, aud
now iiave not one symptom of Rheumatism or
pain in my body. All the medicine I had taken
seemed to make me worse, and I never had
any relief until I was treated magnetically. People
may laugh ; hot I have no more rheumatic
pains —that’s so.

grown rapidly worse, until three day:, since I was
brought to this city on a bed, being entirely unable
to sit np, for the purpose of consulting the far
famed Prof. Roberts. After the first treatment,
which was only a few minutes. I was free of ail
pain and able to walk anywhere, and to-day I feel
so well and strong 1 can scarcely realize that I
am the same being who was so feeble aud suffer

To whom it may concern : This will certify that,

most of tlie time suffered most excruciating pain,
during which time I have sought relief in vain
from the regular medical profession ; and 1 limber

treated by Prof. Roberts, aud apparently perma
neatly cured after being treated the third time. I

Dr. R. R. Ilobcrls : —This is to certify that I
have, for five years past, been afflicted with
goitre. Physicians pronounced it incurable, and
from them I obtained no relief, but upon the con

disappeared, and I am entirely relieved from suf

This certifies tlmt I have suffered exceedingly
with a largo tumor ou the left side of my face for
twenty-five years. During this age of torture it
lias been removed twice by painful surgical opera
tioiis, which ouly seemed to aggravate its growth.
When Dr. Roberts came to Atlanta I took treat
ment bv Animal Magnetism, aud have been
greatly benefitted bv him—in point of truth, more
than by the entire twenty seven “regular” doctors
who have attended me.
Under the treatment, the tumor softened and re
duced in size, the hearing in my left ear lias been
restored, and my left arm, which was almost use
less, lias been restored to its original strength. I
can now sleep on my left side—a thing 1 could not
do for many years before. I firmly believe if I
could continue the treatment the tumor would
entirely disappear. Mas. J. G. McLIN.
