Thk Okarys.—The Columhns papers
arc profuse in their pmises of there distin
guished artists. From several extracts
before us, wo select the following from the
Columbus Sun, which will give some ideaDf
the estimation in which they are held:
Another Concert To-Nioht.—lt is too
late to speak at leuirth of the delightful con
cert last night in Temperance Hall. Not
withstanding a threatened rain, a large and
very select audience attended. They wore
highly pleased and entertatned. Finer
voices than Mr. and Miss Geary posses are
never heard in Columbus. They sing ex
quisitely tho most boautiful of ballads. To
night is the last opportunity our citizens
will have of bearing them, and we advise
all to go. All sang well lnsr night, and
the hand plavcd splendidly. They take part
in the concert Ibis evening. A fine pro
gramme has been chosen. Attend ull who
love fine tuusic.
We can say with all truth that tho concert
last night was tho best ever heard in Colum
bus.
We understand that tho Gearys arc txj be
with us some time this week. We hope
this is true; because wo are getting rather
jealous of our sister cities in having so much
excellent music to themselves, and are
anxious to enjoy a little of it at least, again.

Kerosene On.. — Many people do not
know tho differAcc between Kerosene or
Coal Oil, and Petroleum or Well Oil, and for
information in regard to the matter we
would refer our readers to the ‘‘Lamp Man”
who sells only the Kerosene, because it burns
much longer and has less offousivo odor.
Mr. Farr has just received an addition to
his large stock of Lamps, Glass Cones, metal
top Chimneys, large Lanterns, Hall Lamps,
etc., etc. * All of which ho will sell at low
prices. Oil from 90c. to $1 per gallon.
Lamps from 35c. up, and where will you

A Housekeei-riv.s Maxims.— Never
say dye until you have had your silk
turned twice. Good wine needs no
bush, but home-made champagne does
need the gooseberry bush. Don’t count
your chickens before they’re hatched ;
and avoid, as much as possible, having
them in your breakfast etrgs. Half a
loaf is better than no bread, and half a
stale loaf will go farther than new bread.

the market. We quote sales from 23 to 28
