Day ok Fasting and Prayer.—
President Johnson, in view of the approach
of the Cholera, has recommended the 17th
day of May as a day of Fasting and Prayer.
We join the ConititutionalUt in the express
ion of the hope that Gov. Jenkins will issuo
his proclamation in accordance with the
President’s recommendation.
Fexianism is “played out. ’ The
mouse born of the mountain is the weakliest
of political rodents —much too weak to live.
That such a small affair should have cost
millions of dollars will be a w orld’s wonder
to the world’s end. How is it that the re
sult is so ludicrously disproportion ed to the
cost ? Where is the money ? An Irish
echo answers with a derisive drawl, “J/c
--hone y.”—Charleaton”—Charleaton Daily Netca, oth init.
The Influence of Fknianism.—An
Irish paper bemoans the blow which Fe*
niauism has given to commercial enterprise
in Ireland. “We are aware,” it says, “that
a number of our mines in the West, owing
to this filibustering movement, havff been
prevented from being worked—that capital
to the amount of £200,000 was ready to
bo employed in their devolopmcut—that
Irish noblemen and gentry hud couio for
ward to join the capitalists of Englaud in
carrying out this great and important
undertaking : but, for the present, to use
the words of Mr. Monsell, they refuse to pro
ceed with the work. We know of another
instance where a gentleman sacrificed what
he had paid up on some of our Western
quarry shares rasher than respond to future
calls, so annoyed was he with Fenian ism
and its doings.”

RIGHT OF THE
PATENT MICA ROOFING,
Wo are now prepared to supply it in any
quantity, or to apply it to Roofs.
The MICA ROOFING is adapted to build
ings of every description, and can be ap
plied to Steep or Flat Roofs, or over old

gles. We recommend its use on Factories,
Foundries, Store Houses, Cotton Sheds,
Railroad Depots and upon all buildings
where steam is used, and a Fire Proof re
quired.
It costs about one-lialf tho price of
Tin.
It is cheap, durable, and is easily and
quiekly applied. The upper surface of the
Roofiug is protected from the action of the
▼either, by its covering of Ground Mica,
which is pressed into the water proof com
position, making a hard surface of stone,
beautiful in appearance, aud a sure protec
tion against fire.
We shall also keep constantly on hand a
supply of
INDIA-RUBBER ROOFING PAINT,
which is the best coating that can be used
for Tin Roofing. Leaky Tia Roofs can be
readily repaired, so as to last many years,
at a trifling cost, which would in many
cases save the expense of anew ltoof.
