Arrests. — A United Slates soldier
belonging to Cos. E, lGth New York, was
arrested yesterday afternoon by tho City
W itch, for stealing a jjair of shoes. lie
was intoxicated ; the shoes were found
upon him. Some resistance was offered the
Police in attempting to arrest him.
A pedlar, name was also
arrested yesterday afternoon, for [Visaing
counterfeit money, and Belling on the
streets without a proper license.

such as furniture, drugs, medicines, groce
ries, dry goods, Yankee notions, etc. Those
