The Coming Meteoric Display.—
Astronomers, both native and foreign,

Our own scientific men have fixed the
nights of November 12th and 13th as
their “field nights,” and are anxiously

this brilliant phenomenon, perhaps a few
words relative to precisely what may be
expected, may not be out of place.

900 to trace the beginning of these
periodic heavenly displays, but the more

ASSESSOR, AND DEFINE HIS

by the authority of the eame. That on the
first Friday in December, 1866, and on the
second Saturday in J quinary, 1888, and
every year thereafter, there snail be elected
by the City Council, an Officer to be known

four (one from each ward in the City), to be
