Whereas, Tha. CityCooncil of Augusta,
at a meeting held No*., jib; 1866, adopted
the following Resolutio*, and added the ac
companying extract from the Charter of the
Columbia and Augusta Railroad Company,

Resolved, That His Honor, the. Mayor,
proclaim an election to. bo held in the City
of Augusta; op the Third Monday 1h No
vember, 1866, according to the Laws and
. Ordinances regulating the same; and the
vote taken at suoh election shall he for
“Subscription” or “No Subscription,” to
the amount of One Hundred : Thousand
($400,000) Dollars to the Capital - Stock-of
the Columbia and Augusta Railmad, hy the
City Council of.Augusta,.said subscription
to be paid in City’ of Augusta Seven per
cent. Bonds. The conditions of said siih
. acription shall be that tile Columbia' ;and
, Augusta Railroad shall nrvqs tlie-hdrannah
River, and have Sts Maqhiae Shops' and
Freight and Faasongpr Depbta in this City;
and that the Real Estate-and other pi operty
owned by said Columbia and Augnata Bail;
