TEA CULTIVATION IN THE U. STATES.
H AVING received a small supply of TEA NUTS,
collected at great expense ot money and labor,
in the middle districts of China, from the most cele
brated 'l ea Plantations of the Empire, 1 am prepared
tu fulfil my engagements hy accommodating the pub

ject i-to plant and cultivate; but. as I nut quite cer
tain that 1 linve obtained, after the lalior of three
yenrs, the beet quality of Ten Nuts, 1 am disposed to
meet the wishes of the public, and lo share them
with others.--TfnNuts gathered ill the neighborhood
of Canton ai'L scarcely worth cultivating, on account
of the inferior quality of the Ten. It is obviously tho
interest of the planter to submit to an increased ex
pense, to secure a superior qunlity ot Tea Nut, in es--
udilisnihg a Ti a Plantation, whether large or small.
In prosecuting this arduous undertaking, I am in
’ fact acting ns an ag-lit for the belli fit ol the public.
Neither tlie State, the public, or any individual, has
ever extended to me tlie aid of a single cent.
F'or cob vi nil nee and security, the Niks will be
packed in tin boxes, ami forwarded from Greenville,
