say, tiiat. he wad engaged lit superintending the con
struction of a sewer in 30th street, between the Gtb
and 8th avenues, and in hoisting up a largo stone of
nearly a ton weight, the fall gave way and precipita
ted deponent, witli the stone, into the sewer, a distance
of over fifteen feet, striking him on the back and
shoulder, which so severely jammed and bruised de
ponent, that he was taken up insensible and thought
to be killed. Dr. Tobins was immediately sent for,
and applied the Venetian Liniment, which so revived
this deponent that in a few minutes lie wn able to
speak ; and by the constant use of this most valuable
preparation, he was sufficiently recovered to attend
to bis business as usual, in the short space ofl'ourduye,
to tile astonishment of all who witnessed the nccident
