The N. Y. Tribune is urging “ Land Reform,” do-
lending Itself for going for “the Omnibus Bills,” and
now for re opening them. Tho Tribune does not con
sider tho Bills as settling any thing but for the time
being, and that they arc all up for modification or re-
poal. The editor is in high glee with the course ta
ken by Washington Hunt, tho nominee for Gov
ernor, In endorsing the proeecdinga of the majority
in the Syracuse convention. Mr. Hunt in his letter
to Mr. Gbanukr, comes out for the Sewaiid platfonn,
which may bo regarded ns another evidence of the
strength of the party in favor of the rppeul of the
Fugitive Slave Bill. Thc Tribune prefaces this cor
respondence with the following remarks.
The following correspondence between Hon. Fran
cis Granger and Hon. Washington Hunt, the Whig
candidate for Governor, will explain itself and elec-
trify every Whig heart. Mr. Hunt, it will be seen,
chough moat anxious for union ami harmony iu the

Jenny TAnd in Philadelphia. The Nightingale ar
rived in Philadelphia on Tuesday evening, and put
up at Jones'Hotel. 8howas met at the wharf, or
rather tho boat was met, by an immense crowd, but
the captain gave out that she was on board of anoth
er boat, just about to land at a different wharf,so tlie
crowd rushed pell-mell for that locality, only to find
that Jenny had been put ashore at another point. In
the meantime Jones' Hotel was surrounded by an
enthusiastic multitude, who were addressed by Bar-
nitm, bdt this only increased the excitement, and
Jenny had finally, at a late hour, to make her appear
ance on the balcony. This done, they slowly dis
persed.
The Philadelphia papers give accounts of tho auc
tion sale of the tickets to thn first concert, by whicit
it appears that thn mania in that city Is quite ns great
as it was in either Boston or New York. Philadelphia
too has produced her victim, and a certain Root, has
the transcendent honor oi procuringa fool’s notoriety
by paying tho sum of *028 for tho first ticket to Jen
ny Lind's first concert in Philadelphia. The bidding
is thus described :
The Cheanut street theatre was crowded to over
flowing this morning to witness the sale of tickets.
All the seats in the houso', except 73 reserved for the
press, and the stockholders' boxes on each side of the
orchestra, were put up. The price of tickets being
fixed at $3each, the premium bid was of course ad
ditional. Mr. Root, the celebrated Daguerrentypist,
of this city and New York, bid $500 nt the first start
—the next was $fi(X), from Mr. Fettridgo, of Boston,
when Mr. Root advanced $25, nnd took tho front
scat iu tho centre box, the whole expense being
$028. This was announced amid a storm of ap
plause and hisses.
In our opinion the responses were very proper, es
pecially the latter.
