JLd PURCHASERS OF GARDEN SEEDS.
TO
It is
•elfevldent, that unless the seeds which wo may
cow, are good In all respects, it will bo folly to ex-
more
find, aftercareful culture, that the variety
la worthless:—How many from their own experi
ence can estimate the annoyance of such an event!
Conscious of the room for improvement, and assured
that the seeds man who should justly he entitled to
confidence, Would receive ample support, tho foun
ders ot tho establishment, now conducted by the
subscriber, started morn than half a century ago,
with the determination to sell nothing but what was
worthy of credit; and that they might tho more cer
tainly accomplish their object, resolved to produce,
as far as possible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most imported
seeds could not he relied on, much less those casual
ly collected, and sold to dealers.—Tho result was ns
they had foreseen :—unlimited public confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been gradually en
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America ; supplying not only much of tho demand
in the Middle. YVestern and Southern States, but ex
porting to the WeBt indies, South America and the

A certain remedy for all fixed pains in the Side,
Chest, Loins, Back, Bowels, Muscles, Rheumatism in
all its varied forms, Nervous Affections, Lungs and
iver Complaints, Spinal Affections, Female Weak
nesses, etc., etc. For the above complaints this Plas
ter has no equal. The great celebrity which it inis
alrendy acquired, not only in the old, hut in the new
world, the extraordinary cures it has performed in
the most extreme cases of suffering, have acquired
for it such a reputation, that the proprietor has not
until recently been able to supply half the demand.
The sales throughout every city, town and village
in the United States, are without a parallel!
A circumstunce net surprising, when the vast a-
mount of human suffering relieved by its use is con
sidered. In spinal Defects, the benefit usually is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints,
nineteen cases out of twenty readily yield to the pen
etrating stimula combined in this valuable prepara
tion.
In Rheumntism, either acute or chronic, the claims
of tho Hebrew Plaster have long since been univer
sally acknowledged Those who are laboring under
weak hacks, no matter from what cause the weakness
may have originated—even if sucli persons have been
misguided in previous applications in the use of the
Hebrew Plaster they will find the affected part sud
denly restored to its original soundness.
As a supporter in cases of constitutional weakness
it will be found of great advantage. It is particular
ly recommended to Females who are suffering from
sudden weakness, or general debility. In snort, it
embraces all the virtues which the mostseientifie mind
wascapnble of compounding from valuable substan
ces found in the old world, and wiil be found entire
ly free from those objections which are a source of
complaint with the numerous spread-plasters now-
before the public.
jgp* These plasters possess tho advantage of be
ing put up in air tight boxes—hence they retain their
full virtues in all climates.
Beware of Counterfeits nnd Base Imitations.
None genuine without the engraving of Jew David
on the wrapper around each box. Price 50 centB per
box. Each box contains sufficient to spread six or
eight plasters.

this country over 1000 certificates have been received,

From Dr. Hiram Cox.
Late Professor in Cincinnati Electric Mcnical College.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: Howeverreluctr.ntl have been
to permit my name to be attached to patent medi
cine, I consider it a duty to tho community to state
that in three cases of incipient consumption, viz : Miss
Belt, Miss Barger, and Mr. R. II. Cox. one of the Ci
ty Council, that Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort and Tar opi
rated more like a specific than nny other remedy, till
I ever used. One of the cases, viz : Miss Bell, pro
nounced by several rhysicians to be laboring under
the lust stage of Scrofulous Consumption. She is
now in good heulth, from the use of a few bottles of
the above syrup. HIRAM COX, M. I),
Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
From the Hon. Judge Henry Morse.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: I am well acquainted with
Dr. Hiram Cox and his practice, he having been my
family physician for many years, and can cheerfully
say that I have as much confidence in his skill as any
man living. HENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1847.
From William Richard**, M. D.
I feel constrained from a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ofthis city, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, tor which I
had been treating with leas than usual success. At
his request, and that of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort nnd Tar ; and I must
confess that its effects were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
and he was soon restored to health, f do con
scientiously recommend mv brother practitioners to
prescribe this rimedy in all pulmonary comploii
which baffle the ordinary mode of treatment.

Compound Fluid Ex-n-nct of Conyza and
Styllingin.
T HIS preparation is a Concentrated Extract,
taining h11 the Active Medical Properties ol
Conyza, (commonly known as Bluck Root,) and the
dtyllingia, or Queen's Delight.
These plants have been long used among our South
ern Negroes, and recently by the Medical Profession,
with the happiest results, in cases of Chronic Rheu
matism, Ulcers of long standing, and Serpndary
Syphilis. It is much superior to uny preparation of
Sarsaparilla as an alterative, being more active and
prompt in its operation on tho system. These facts
have induced the subscribers to present to the atten
tion of Physicians a fluid extract prepared strictly ac
cording to Chemicul and Parmaceutieal science, de
void of all the feculent and inert parts of the roots,
notdoubtingthat it will supersede the unscientific and
crude preparations hitherto used.
Price—81 per bottle, or six bottles for 85.
