PURCHASERS OF GARDEN SEEDS. It is
•elf evident, that .unless the seeds which wo may
sow, are good in all respects, it will be felly to ex-
▼exattous, nuu, anercareiui culture, that the variety
is worthless!—How many from their own experi
ence can estimate tho annoyance of such an event!
Consolous of the room for improvement, and assured
that the seeds-mnn who should justly be entitled to
confidence, would receive ample support, the foun
ders of tho establishment, now confueted by the
subscriber, started more than half a century ago.
with tho determination to soil nothing but whnt was
worthy of credit; and that they might tho more cer
tainly accomplish their object, resolved to produce,
as far as passible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most Imported
seeds could not be relied on, much less those casual
ly collected, and sold to dealers.—Tho result was as
they . had foreseeu :—unlimited public confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been gradually en
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America ; supplying not only much of the demand
in tho Middle, Western and Southern States, but ex
porting to the West Indies, South America and the
British Posesslons In Asia. DAVID LANDRETII.

A certain remedy for all fixed pains in tho Side,
Chest, Loins, Back, Bowels, Muscles, Rheumatism in
nil its varied forms, Nervous Affections, Lungs and
Liver Complaints, Spinal Aflections, Female Weak
nesses, etc., etc. For the above complaints this Plas
ter has no equal. The groat colebrity which ithRs
already acquired, not only in the old, hut in the new
world, the extraordinary cures it hus performed in
the most extreme cases of suffering, have acquired
for it such n reputation, that the proprietor baa not
until recently been able to supply half the demand.
The sales throughout every city, town and village
in the United States, are without a parallel I
A circumstance nor. surprising, when the vast n-
mount of human Buttering relieved by its use is con
sidered. In spinal Defects, the benefit usually is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints,
nineteen cases out of twenty rendily yield to the pen
etrating stimula combined in this valuable prepara
tion.
In Rheumatism, cither acute or chronic, the clniins
of the Hebrew Plaster have long ilnco been univer
sally acknowledged 'ITinse who are laboring under
weak hacks, no matter from whnt cause the weakness
may have originated—even if such persons have been
misguided in previous applications in the use of the
Hebrew Plaster they will find the affected pHrt suth
denly restored to its original soundness.
As a supporter in enses of constitutional weakness
it will be found of great advantage. IttJe particular
ly recommended,to Females who are suffering from
sudden weakness; or general debility. In snort, it
embraces all the virtues which the most scientific mind
was callable of compounding from valuable substan
ces found in the old world, ami wiil be found entire
ly free from those objections which are a source of
oomplainj with the numerous spread-plasters now
before the public.
13?° These plasters possess the advantage of be

full virtues in all climates.

From Dr. Hiram Cox.
Late Professor in Cincinnati Electric Medical College.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: Howcverreluctr.ntI have been
to permit my name to bo attached to patent medi
cine, I consider it a duty to the community to state
that in three cases of incipient consumption, viz : Miss
Belt, Miss Barger, and Mr. R. H. Cox. one of the Ci
ty Council, that Dr. Rogers’ Liverwort nnd Tar ope
rated more like a specific than any other remedy, that
I ever used. One of the eases, viz ; Miss Bell, pro
nounced by several Physicians to be laboring under
the lust stage of Scrofulous Consumption. She is
now in good health, from the use of a tew bottles of
the above 3yrup. HIRAM COX, M. D.
Cincinnati, Jan. 25,1847.
From the Hon. Judge Ilcary Morso.
Mr. A. L. Scovill: I mn well acquainted with
Dr. Hiram Cox nnd his practice, he having been my
family physician for many years, nnd can cheerfully
say that lhave as much confidence in his skill as any
man living. IIENRY MORSE.
Cincinnati, Nov. 8th, 1847.
From William Richard*, M. D.
I feel constrained from a sense of duty to make
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, ol this city, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, tor which I
had been treating with less thnn usual success. At
his request, and that of his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers'Liverwort nnd Tar; nnd I must
conlessthatits effects were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits were discontinued,
and he was soon restored to health. I do con
scientiously recommend my brother practitioners to
prescribe this remedy in all pulmonary complaints
which bailie the ordinary mode of treatment.

not doubting that it wijlsuporsode the unscientific und
crude preparations hitherto uied.
