is worthlessHow many from their own experi
ence esu estimate the annoyance of such an event!
Conscious of the room for improvement, and assured
that the aeeds-man who should justly be entitled to
confidence, would receive ample support, the foun
ders of the establishment, now conlucted by the
subscriber, started more than hnlf a century ago,
with the determination to sell nothing but what was
worthy of credit; and that they might the more cer
tainly accomplish their object, resolved to produce,
as far os possible, the seeds which they should vend;
experience having shown them that most imported
seeds could not be relied on, much leas those carnal
ly collected, and told to dealers.—The result was ns
they had foreseen :—unlimited public confidence.
The concern thus conducted, has been grauually en
larged, and is now the most extensive of its kind in
America; supplying not only much of the demand
tn’the Middle, Western and Southern States, but ex
porting to the West Indies, South America and the
British Posessions in Asia. DAVID LANDRETII.

Mr. A. L. Scovill: Howevorroluctr.ntl huvebeen

From Willimn Riclmvds, M. D.
I feel constrained from a sense ol duty to mnke
the following statement, conscious that it may appear
unprofessional. Mr. Charles Wade, oi this city, was
quite low with Pulmonary Consumption, tor which I
had been treating with lesB than usual success. At
his request, and that 06 his friends, I permitted him
to try Dr. Rogers' Liverwort and Tar ; and I must
confess that its effects were really surprising. After
using the second bottle my visits worn discontinued,
and he was soon restored to health. I do con
scientiously recommend my brother practitioners to
prescribe this remedy in all pulmonary complaints
which battle the ordinary mode of treatment.

A certain remedy for all fixed pains in the Side,
Chest, Loins, Flack, Bowels, Muscles, Rheumatism in
all its varied forms, Nervous Affections, Lungs and
Liver Complaints, Spinal Affections, Female Weak
nesses, etc., etc. For the above complaints this Flus
ter has no equal. The great celebrity which it has
already acquired, not only in the old, but in the new
world, the extraordinary cures it has performed in
the most extreme cases of suffering, have acquired
for it such a reputation, tlint the proprietor 1ms not
until recently been able to supply half the demand.
The sales throughout every city, town and village
in the United States, are without a parallel!
A circumstance not surprising, when the vast a-
mount of human suffering relieved hy its use is con
sidered. In spinal Defects, the benefit usually is of
the most decided character. In Nervous Complaints,
nineteen cases out of twenty readily yield to the pen
etrating stirnula combined in this valuable prepara
tion.
In Rheumatism, either acute or chronic, the claims
of the Hebrew Plaster have long since been univer
sally acknowledged. Those who are laboring under
weak backs, no matter from what cause the weakness
may have originated—even if such persons have been
misguided in previqu* implications in the use of tile
Hebrew Plaster they will mid the affected part sud
denly restoied to its original soundness.
As k supporter in cases of constitutional weakness
it will be found of great advantage. It is particular
ly recommended to Females who are suffering from
sudden weakness, or general debility. In short, it
embraces all the virtues which the moetscientiffc mind
was capable of compounding from valuable substan
ces found in the old world, and wiil be found entire
ly free from those objections which arc a source of
complaint with the numerous spread-plasters now
before the public.
These plasters possess the advantage of hc-
ing put up in air tight boxes—hence they retain their
full virtues in all climates.
Beware ofConntcrfeitsand Base Imitations.
None genuine without tho engraving of .lew David
on tho wrapper around each box. Trice 50 cents per

eight plasters.
