Schiedam Aromatic Schnapps,
rpilE above-named preparation has become exlen-
1 sively known throughout the length and breadth
ot the United States, and is universally admitted to be
the most deligntful, healthful, invigorating and pure
preparation of ths luniper berry, that science, and a
long prac*.io«ln the distillation and preparation of pur*
liquors has ever suooeedud in producing.
A long-ostabllshod manufacturer aud importer of
liquore of every description, tho undersigned devoted
himself to the produotion of an article or pure Uiu,
whioh should prove a valuable agent iu the cure of the
manifold diseases which afflict ths human rooo, and for
which Holland Uiu has been proscribed by th* medioal
faculty for years. At length his efforts were crowned
with saooeM, at his extensive distillery in Schiedam,
Holland, from whioh plac* th* purest Gin has long been
imported, and he was enabled to give to tbe world his
Schnapps, which, for purity, and entire freedom from
the peruicions fusel oil aud aU other noxious ingre
dients, and delightful aromatlo flavor, has never boon
equaled, and oaunct be excelled.
In order to protect himself from poounlary loss at the
hands of oheats, imposters and pirates, who would un
questionably attempt to pain off a vilo and spurious
artiole upon the uususpeutiug oommunity, and, like ths
wolf in sleep's olothiug, pray upon their very vitals, h*
resorted to the expedient of importing and soiling bit
Schnapps only in pint and quart bottles.
These bottles are ot glam, stomped with tbs name of
ths manufacturer: are corked aud sealed, and have
printed labels bearing the signature of Uuuu uo Wolfs
upon them. They are also* iuoloMd in colored wrap
pers, also bearing his slgnaturs, in whioh form alone
they can be obtained in
bottles eaoh.
Notwithstanding all these guards, unprincipled par
ties havs been found guilty of the unwarrantable aud
criminal practice if buying up empty bottles, filling
them with vile oomtuon gin, whioh is the most perni
cious poison with which a uommuuity was ever cursed,
and sands thousands toawratohsd drunkard's grave
yearly.
It Is only nsMSiaij, therefore, for those who parohMe
the artiole by retail, or drink it at public piacee, to
mark well the appearaaoo of tho bottles from whioh
thoy drink. Caation is nsoesMry.
Tbe Schnapps have, been introduced but about tw
yeare, but iu that brief time their virtues have been
acknowledged to an almoat iuorodible extent, until Itu
matter of some diffioulty to keen up a supply ade
quate to the demand, so root ar* ordsra pouring in from
evsry State and territory in the Union, from Maine to
Oregon and California.
Determinod that the virtues of tbs Schnapps should
be thoroughly substantiated by the most undeniable and
unquoctiouable testimonials, circulars were dispatched
* regular member of the Medioal Faculty and
. Tonal Chemist whose name could be obtained,
soliciting their acceptance of a bottle of the Schnapps,
with a view of enabling them to tost its medicinal qual-
itiee in their prsotioe, and submit it to ths strictest
ohemical analysis ia thsir laboratories.
Of th* tsn thousand physioiaus and chemists in tho
United States, about four thousand aooepted tbs offer.
Upwards or two thousand have promptly turuishsdthsir
written ondorsemout that tho artiole is all that is
claimed for it, and in the strongest language recom
mended iu general um, not ouly as a remedial agent,
but a delightful, harmless and pleasant beverage —
These vulouUry endorsement# are from gentlemen of
unquestionable knowledge and the mostperfeetsoieaoe.
Nor alone have practitioner* and ohemieu furnished
their teetimonials. The public press, in almost every
■inclpal oity end town, has boldly spoken in iu favor
i iu editorial columns.
The Now York Modi «1 GasetU and Journal of
Health, high authority, has repeatedly proclaimed iu
excelleuet'. la the July number of that Journal, Dr.
Reese IU accomplished editor, has publicly invited a
discussion npon the subjeot of tho use of alooholio mix
tures, medicinally, in his widely circulating columns,
and the views of the medioal faculty in rsferenoe to my
Hohuappa, in particular, giving an aesurauoe that they
ebould be spread before the public. Physicians, there
fore, who have not alroady oomplisd with my request to
forward ms thsir opinion, as to iu qusiitiss, *wiil oblige
by doing so through tbs editor ofMediosl Uasette.
