Some iiiauutsciurars rafuso to sell their goods
for money, and demand of tho families of sol
diers that they shall pay for thalr goods with
provisions. This will he regarded as a viola
tion of the privilege of exemption, it being a
disingenuous shift to obtain exorbitant rale*
ami larger profits than tho law allows. They
must sell their goods for money. They must
have a money price, and if they will not Fell for
this mnst cease to manufacture^ Confederate
monry is the cnrrency of the country, and tho
rcfiihal to take it will be treated as a forfeiture
of exemption. If citizens Willingly barter sup
plies it is not objected to.
Tho attention of all oflicers of the Bureau is
called to this order. They will likewise receive
proofs and fo ward the same la all other cases
where citizens charge a forfeiture of uemup-
tion.
