Retaliation.—Lieut. Larimore, of company I,
40lb Kentucky, informs the Cincinnati Gazette
that Morgan’s officer of the d iy at Mount Sterling

portion ol tbe State, it is believed tbia will be
accomplished by the lime this proclamation
can be generally published, while teu days or

labor necessary to make the crop.

In case any Qf those officers neglect thi* duty
and refuse themselves to report and nid :n re
pelling tbe enemy, it is hoped all who are in
service will remember them mfuture, and place
more faithful public servants in positions of
responsibility. However weighty the reasons
each man might be able to give lor remaining a
home, there are more important reasons why be
should hasten to the front if he i6 able to travel.

If Gen. Johnston’s army is destroyed the Gulf
States are thrown open to the enemy aud we
are rained. If Gen. Sherman’s army is cutoff
tbe West is thrown open lo ua to the Ohio river,
and all raidB iulo Mississippi, Georgia and Ala
hama will at once cease. If every citizen of
Georgia will do bis duty aud the President will
