Savannah in the ffionthsof November and December,
796, that there is still a balance due from the Committee
•f 1242 dollars 86- 3 cents, and 514 dollars 17! cents of
jvhich has been reiinquifned (bolides what has already been
transmitted) for the use of the unfortunate people’ of Phi
ladelphia occafiuned by the malignant fevfcrs last summer
and fill,
It is ordered , That the relinquishments and statements
be spread on the minutes, the statements of the Committee
publiflitd in the Savannah papers, and that the Mayor do
draw onthe Committee for tl e said 514 dollars cents,
2nd tranlinit the fame to the Corporation of Philadelphia
for the purposes blended by the benevolent donors.

THE Citizens of Savannah are rofpedifully informed,
is arrived, and is now to be fetn at Mr. Glufsb, for
a fliort time only.
As this is a curiosity whieli needs no puffing illusive
advertisement to recommend it, a lliert Udcription of tiiis
noble Animal may be fufficient:
She measures 17 feet long,
7 feet high,
13 feet round the body,
S feet round the head,
36 incites round the feet,
And weighs about 3500 lbs.
She travels lonic at the rate of 3,4, 5 miles rn hour,
frequently remaining 20 cr 30 paces behind her Keepers,
and is so docile and tradable that file appeared on tiv stage
in Philadelphia in the Prcceifion of Alexander the Great,
and was exhibited at large in the Circus at Charkftou before
crowded and admiring Houles.
Terms:’ Admittance, half a dollar, from fun rife to sunset
only; payment for every admittance wTlFbe demanded.
Union Society.
THE Members of the Union Society are requested to
meet at the Filature, on Monday the firit aay of
April next, (it being a quarterly meeting) agreeable to tne
following resolution:
Rcfclved, That in future the accounts of the Pi est dent
and Members of the Society lhall be fettled and paid up on
the Quarterly Meeting previous to tire Anniversary, and
that the Society ftir.ll meet on the forenoon of that day, at
to o’clock, for the purpose, infteadcf the evening; and it

‘Frcftees of the White Bluff Congregation, oeirig
X authorized, by an aA of the General Alffimbiy of
this state, to dispose, by public auction, of a Piece of
Land, commonly known by the name of the Town or
Village cf Vernonburgh, about eight and an half miles
•from Savannah, do hereby give notice, That, in r umuince
of said adt, the said Piece of Land wilLbe expoleT.it public
file, on Friday the 12th day of April next, before the
Courthouse in the City of Savannah, in the manner and on
the__terms and conditions following, viz.
Ihe laid piece cf land has been laid oft into lots, con
taining from nearly two acres to half an acre each, so as to
present convenient fronts on the high bluff known bv the
name of White Bluff, on the beautiful River Vernon/hav
ing two streets, one of which is parallel with the main road,
and the other running from the main road to trie river,
nearly through the centre of the lot:; each lot has a valu
ation affixed to it, and all lums which may be oulred will
be ccnlldered as in addition to said valuation.
A credit of one and two years will be given, the mm
chafer giving bonds and mortgages; the puicoders to be at
the expence of the fame and titles; a plan cf the said lots,
with their fttuation, may be seen, by applying to Mr. Van
M-Kinrwn, the County Surveyor.
