In obedience to the Order of Council I lhall make a re
entry on the foregoing tots on the 14th day of Augull in
fant, if the several owners of the said iots lhall not before
that day pay into the City Treasury their relpeftive ba

Savannah, August, 2d, 1802.
INFORMA l ION being laid before Council, that the
Yellow. Fever has made its appearance in the City of
Philadelphia,
It is ordered, That the Health-Officer be dire died to*
order all velfels coming from the Port of Philadelphia to
be brought to at Ccckfpur, and there to perform a qua
rantine ol fifteen days, including their days of failing, and
that, daring the performance of the said quarantine, the
woollen and cotton goods on board dial l be, on every fair
day, exposed to the open air, and the holds of the velfels
ventilated in the befl possible manner, and that, after that
tune, they be permitted to come up as high as Five
Fathom Hole, and there remain until they (lull receive
a certificate of health from the Health-Officer.
Provided nevertheless, i hat the above goods (ball be
exposed to the air, and the vcflel ventilated, at leal! three
days before the said veflel be permitted to come up to the
laid last place, notwithstanding the fifteen day s from the
failing of the said vessel may have before expired.
Atid it is further ordered , That the Health-Officer
compel the mailers or commanders of veflels coming to this
port, with any articles fubjeft to putrefaftion, and finding
the fame in a decayed or unsound Hate, to land such articles
at any place which the said mailer or commander may think
proper, so that the said place be not higher up the river than
Five Fathom Hole; and that in such case the said velfel
lhall be well ventilated, at leafl three days after the dis
charge of such decayed or unibund articles, before ihe is
allowed to fail up to Savannah.
And it is further ordered, That all perfous contraven
ing these orders lhall be prol'ecuted as the quarantine law
directs.

ing from Philadelphia to an anchor off Cockfpur, there to
remain and peifoim a quarantine agreeable to the above
order of the City Council.

THE following persons being drawn as Jurors to fern
in the Court of ivlayor and Aldermen, to wit,
John Smith, George Enoe, George W. Nichols, Thomas
M. Woodbridge, and Stephen Files, and, being duly
summoned, did make default, it is ordered , That the
defaulters be fined in the sum of ten dollars each, unless
an excuse, on oath, be filed with the Clerk, on or before
the firft day of next Court; and that this order be publilhed
in the Gazettes of this city twice successively.

The fliip Mac, bound from Savannah to London, put■
into this port yesterday in distress, and is now at quarantine. I
After being at sea three days the captain was taken lick, |
the mate was seized with the like disorder the day follow-1
ing, and in a few days after three of the sea men. The I
captain and the mate being deranged, tlx second mate I
took upon him the temporary command of the vefleJ, but I
not understanding navigation fufficiently, <md mod of the I
hands being sick, he procured the assistance of a Philadel- 1
phia pilot, who brought lier into Sandy Hook. The cap- 1
tain, it is expe&ed, will not recover. 1

Orient to bis correspondent in this city, dated 3% I
26 tb, 1802, received by the brig Tiger, from Hor*l

“ The present is purely to advise you that we have tfcs■
day received from Paris the law refptcling the entrepot
tobacco, by which our port is comprehended, which®®
not appear in the firft instance to be the case, as L’Orien®
St. Malo, ahd Rochelle, were left out; but our gM®
friend mr. Dorville, (now in Paris) with fome
friends of influence, took their measures, and had
town comprehended in the law. We take this
opportunity to acquaint you of this event, as very
ably the projett of the law might have reached you beW®
it was rendered, and you would of course have seen
our town not being comprehended might have had
effedt refpedting the freighting of the ftiips for tins p°-J
or your (hipping any tobacco to this quarter, which >■
ceases. . I
“ The law fpecifies particularly, that no tobacco
be imported into this country in veflels under 100
burthen, to which we request your attention, as earns*
