FIURTHER infonuation haring been laid before Coun
* cil, that the Yellow Fever has spread considerably
in Philadelphia, and rages at present with great violence,
Refdvik, That the trm of 15 days quarantine, or
dered by the refofution of the 2d instant to be performed
by veflels arriving from that port, be extended to 21 days,
and that all woollen and cotton goods be exposed, and the
velfel ventilated, at leaf- fix days, in manner directed by
the said resolution of the 2d and that the Health
’ Officer govern himfelf in all other refpetfts agreeably to
the laid resolution.

quarantine as is prescribed to veffeis coming from Phila
delphia by the resolutions of Council of the 2d and 23d

pinion of the Health Officer, a longer term of quarantine
than 21 days may be necessary to be performed by any
p rticular veffcl, he (the Health Officer) be and he is
hereby authorized to order such further quarantine to be
performed as he may think proper*

NEW YORK, July 29.
DIED. At Guernsey, • lately, ferjeant Samuel
M‘Donald, ;et. 40, of Water in his chest. He
served during the American war, and afterwards as fugle
m n in the Royals, until 1791. when be was taken into
the household of the prince of Wale's, as lodge porter at
Carleton house, and remained in that capacity nn il 179;;
he was then appointed a ferjeant in the late Sutherland
fencibles, and continued to aft in tliat corps, and the 43d
regiment, formed from it, until his death. lie Ws> 6 f. et
10 inches in height, 4 feet round the chest, and well pro- *
portioned. He continued active vitil his 35th ‘ear, when
he began to decline. His strength was prodigious, but he
was ndver known to exert it improperly. Seveial consi
derable otters were made to engage him at a pubik exhi
bition, all of which he refufed, and always disliked being
flared at—At Norwich, England, mrs. ’Re don, jet. 88 r
commonly called the Free Mason, from the circumstance
ot hei having contrived to conceal herfelf one evening in
the wainfooting of a lodge room, where (he learnt fume
parts of thoft secrets the knowledge of which thoufauds of
her sex have in vain attempted to arrive at. She was a
very lingular old woman, and as a proof of it (he made
her heart the foie confidant of the secret.
August 7. By letters from Tangier* of the 20th of
June we learn that the profpecd of war between the Un
ited States and Morocco was daily increasing. The em
peror, it appears, had demanded a passport for his veffeis
bound to Tripoli with supplies, and in case of a refufal
threatened a declaration of war against the United States.
Commodore Morris, it is presumable. w ill never agree to
grant such passports. It is not improbable therefore that
our contest in the Mediterranean may be of a more fertous
nature than was at firft contemplated.
Philadelphia . August 7. The office of the commissi
oners ot loans is removed to Germantown, near the market
house.
1 he future meetings of the commissioners of bankruptcy,
we understand, wilt be held in Germantown.
The business of the cuftomhoyfe. in c,.<e of removal,
will be trania&ed at their building near the lazaretto.
Preparations are making to open the poftoffice in 12th
ltreet, between Market and Arch streets.
The banks, it is said, had a meeting on the fukieft of
removal, but have poftporfed the determination to a future

have died at the hospital, and one reported to have been

Notwtthftanding the above favorable appearance the
Board earnestly entreat the citizens to attend to the repeat
ed caution from this office to refrain from all unnecessary

vocable conclusions; and, if the disorder that has alarmed

as the season may yet be against us, it would certainly be
moll prudent for those who have removed from t ie citv to

Baltimore , August 5. Capt. Burr, who arrived a -
New York on Saturday morning last, in 17 days from $&
T homas’s, informs us, that just before he failed an Af
rican brig arrived there from the river La Plata, with in
telligence, that the Spaniards had seized 15 fail of Af
rican veffeis, and taken their cargoes. Our informant
not learn the name of the brig, but understood ftie
made her escape from the Spaniards by fome
and the current opinion at St. Thomas’* was, that a gtf**
i*a! confifcation of Amtrican property in South
would t ike place, and that a rupture between the twofla
turns Would follow.
