Office of Difeount and Depofitc.
Savannah, August 20, 1802.
THE following REGULATIONS are published for
the information of those who may have bulinefs to
tranfad at said Office.
ift. That the Office (halt, for tire present, be opened
on every day, (Sundays, puboe fafts, thankfgjving days,
the 4th of July, and Christmas day, excepted) from 9
o’clock in the morning until 3 o’clock in thb afternoon.
2d. That the Office (ball receive and pay specie coins
according to the rates and value that have been or Audi be
eftabliffied by Congress; and no gold, lilvcr, or copper,
coined within the United States, oilier than such as is or
ffiall be authorized by Congress, fhal! be received.
3d. That the find Office will take charge of the specie
of those who choose to place it there, (free of expence)
and (hall keep it, fubjecl to their order, payable at fight;
and will receive depofites of ingots of gold, bars of fiiver,
wrought plate, and other valuable articles of small bulk,
in the fame manner, and return jbegj on demand of the
depositor.
4th. That payments made at the Office shall be ex
amined at the time, and no error fuggefled afterwards lliall
be correded.
sth. That difeounts (hall be made on bills, notes, or
acceptances, payable in dollars, upon personal security
only, with at leaf! two refponhhle names, (one cf which
mult be a relident in Savannah) for any term not exceed
ing sixtt days; that three days of grace be allowed on all
bills, notes, or payable at the Office; and
that difeount be taken for the fame, as well a* for the day |
on which the difeount is made.
6th. That difeounts shall lie made at the rate of 6
per cent, per annum; and such notes, bills, or accept
ances, as are offered for difeount, (hall be delivered under
cover, directed to the Caflfier cf the Office of Difeount
and Depolite, on Mondav, and laid before the Directors
on Tuefdav, when the .ifeount shall be fettled and made
known on that day, if necessary, and the following day,
in ever)’ week, it shall be entered in the liook of the ap
plicant.
7th'. No note or bill dial! be received at this Office,
for difeount or collection, of a left sum than 50 dollars;
and all notes sent in for difeount or co’iedtion must be un
derfed by those who fend them to Bank.
Bth. No man who owes the Cuiiomhoufe shall liave
difeount without another name than the firft endorser.
9th. That, on failure of payment before (hutting of
the Office on the last dav of grace, the note, bill, or ac
ceptance, shall be protefied, and notice given on that day
to all and every endorser; and when the last day of grace
falls on Sunday the bill or note muff be paid the preced
ing Saturday.
roth. That all notes, bills, or acceptances, intended
for collection at this Office, must be lodged at leaf! one
day before the fame becomes due, and shall, as to notice,
demand, and protest, be proceeded with ss*notes or bills
difeounted, tinlefs the person depositing the fame direct
otherwise in writing. (*
nth. That the non-payment of any bill, note, or
acceptance, when preferred to an endorser, tinder protest,
fnall equally affect his credit with that cf.the accepter or
paver cf said bill, note, or acceptance, so protefied.
12th. That the Cafhiec of this Office shall cause any
ba'e gold or fiiver coin, offered payment, dtpolite, or
for change, at this Office, to fie -cut in such a manner as
to render it notorious and in pal Table, and to be returned
to the person offering the fame.

\ RESOLUTION in the words following, to wit,
_[ \ *• Resolved, That his Excellency the Governor be,
“ and he is Irerebv authorized and requested to parfue such
“ measures as in his judgment may mofl effecluaily afeer
<l tain and collect all just claims which the citizens of this
“ state may have against the Creek Nation cf Indians,
“ which said claims shall, before they are exhibited, be
u duly authenticated, by the oath of one cr more disin
terested persons, taken ana certified by any judge, justice
£ ‘ of the peace, or clerk of the superior or inferior courts,”
having puffed both Branches of the Legislature, and re
ceived the nffeist of the Executive,
17 is ordered, That all persons having claims against
the Creek Nation of Indians, for property of any deicrip
tion by them taken or plundered, be, and they are hereby
required to transmit the fame as fbou as possible to the Ex
ecutive Department, authenticated in the manner by the
afore recited resolution pointed out.

Saubere a certificate, notice therefore i; hereby given to

of bankruptcy , that, unless objections are regularly filed
