BANKRUPTCY.
WHEREAS a commiflion of bankruptcy is awarded
and ifijed forth against Matthew Shearer, of Sa
vannah, merchant, and he, being declared a bankrupt,
is hereby required to surrender himfelf to the commission
ers in the said commiflion named, or the major part of
them, on the fourth and twenty-fifth days of October, and
on the eighth day of November next, at ten o'clock in the
forenoon of each day, at the courthouse in the city of
Savannah, and make a full difeovery and disclosure of his
estate and ese<fls, when and where the creditors are to
come prepared to prove their debts; and, at the second
fitting, to choose aflignees; and, at the last fitting, the said
bankrupt is required to finifli nis examination, aud the cre
ditors are to aflent to, or difient from, the allowance of his
certificates; all persons indebted to the said bankrupt* or

merchant, the major part of the commillioners, and a
number of the creditors, having granted to the said Samuel
Saubere a certificate, notice therefore is herebv given to
the creditors, and others concerned in the laid commiflion
of bankruptcy, that, unless obje&ions are regularly filed
in the clerk’s office aforefaid, by the 27th day of-October
instant, against the said certificate, the fame will be allowed

AN ORDINANCE ,
To prevent Jhacting in the Qty cf- Savannah, and
the Hamlets there's.
WHEREAS divers persons have of lave been in the
practice of (hooting in and about the and id city,
and the hamlets and commons theieuf, to the great.danger
of the peaceable inhabitants, and whereby njatjy mi&hieis*
have been ocrafioned, for remedy whereof, A it ordain
ed, by the Mayor and Aldermen of the city of Saffcnah,
in Council aliynibled, arid it is hereby ordained, by the
authority aforefitid, That, from and after the pulling of
this ordinance, any person whatever who (hall fire or ihoot
off ?ny mulket, fowllngpiece, fufee, or pistol, in any
street, lane, or square, within the laid city, or the ham
lets thereof, or on the commons appurtenant thereto, or
in any path, avenue, or road, leading to and from the laid
city, within the limits and juriioiclion of the fame, (except
such firing final! be on military duty or on feftivals) such
person, on conviction thereof before the City Council, fliail
forfeit and pay, for every such offence, a sum not exceed
ing twenty dollars, one half to the use of the informer,
the other half to tlie trfe of the laid thy.

pine land, on which was a mill feat before the revolution;
it will be dividend as to suit pure balers.
