I have sought the world.ajmimil,
Paths or bin ami sorro** trod,
Pi;tcc and comfort no whose found—
Now to you my spirit turn*—
Turns, a fugitive unblent;
Brethren, where your altar hurn«,
O receive me to your rest.
Lonely, 1 no longer roam.
Like the cloud, the wind, the wave,
Where you dwell shall be my tjmnr,
Where vou die shall be my grave.
Mine the God whom you adore,
Tour Redeemer shall be mine ;
Earth ran fill iny soul no more ;
Ev,vy idol I resign.
Tell me trot of gain and loss,
Ease, enjoyment, pomp, ami power,
Welcome poverty and cross,
Shame, reproach, Hfllii'lion’s hour.
Follow me, 1 know thy voice—
Jesus, Lord, thy steps I "e,
Now 1 take thy yoke by choice,
Light thy burthen now to me.
J. MONTGOMERY.
