passage of this act, every master or other per-

United Slates, who shall neglect or refuse to
deliver a manifest, us is required in and by the

States from any adjacent territory, passed the

Sec. 2. And he it further enanted, That if n-
ny person or persons snail raceiev, conceal, or
in# (hem ?<> have been illegally imported into

tue of any act in relation to the revenue, siicii
person or persons shall, on conviction thereof,
t irfeit and pay a sum double the amount or

received,concealed, or purchased.

ties, or any person assisting them in the execu

teen hundred and eighteen, be, and the .Tine is
hereby, attached to the Terre Haute District
for tlie sale of public lands in the state of Imli-
aea.
See. 2. And be it further enacted, That all the
pablic lands specified, designated, and em
braced within the first and second article of the
treaties aforesaid, which have not been granted
to, or secured for, the use of any individual or
individuals, or appropriated te reserved for any
other purpose by any existing treaties or lows,
and, wi*h the exception of section numbered
sixteen, it each township, which shall he re-
» rved for the support of c.hools therein, shall
be offered for -ale to the highest bidder, at the
f.and Office In the T'-fri Haute. District, under
the direction of the Register <>f the Land Of
fice, ami Receiver of Public Moneys, on such
day or days as shall, by proclamation of ihe
President of the United States, he designated
for that purpose. The lands shall be sold in
tracts of the same size, or* (!••» same terms and
conditions, ami in every respect, as provided
by the act, entitled “ An act making further
1 revision for the sale of the public lauds,” ap
