Gentlemen—I received a few lines from you, dated March
29 th, requesting me to make a statement to you of all the benefi
cial information that has fallen under my notice from the use of
Coster A Coxe’s Southern Tonic. I can but say to you,
that from the limited experience I have with the Tonic, and
as far as I have used it, I am well pleased with the article.
The reason I was induced to make a trial of tlie Tonic, was
my having some patients who, from idiosyncracy* of constitu
tion, could not bear the quinine. I was compelled to resort to
some other remedy, and seeing in the papers tins article highly
recommended. I resolved to give it a trial, consequently I or
dered half a dozen bottles from Mr. Powell iu Milledgeville;
and in using i' 1 ^ Ttr.iU , J E.nud it. necessary to administer in

means I was enabled to cheek the intermitting fever, in every
instance, where it had been given according to directions. 1
liavi. also used this article with considerable benefit in chronic
cotiedaints, where there was hectic lever. I have now a pa
tient under treatment affected 'with clileogis; she is rapidly
convalescent. The patient, when T was called to see her, was
unable to get out. of bed, with alarming hemorrhage from the
no.-e. Sin- has been treated with Peters’ pills and this Tonic,
j ought to have observed, that, this young lady has been afflict
ed witii thus complaint for the last six or seven years, and lias
taken medicine from various physicians without any benefit.
She is now iu better health than she lias been in five years
previous, and I think will, with perseverance in the use of this
article, regain her former health; but die result of this case
shall be reported to you, and all other effectual results which
shall cotne under mv notice. You are at liberty to use thi
letter, or any extract from it you wish.
I am yours, with respect,
THOMAS K. SLAUGHTER.

sought after- by ail classes in ail parts of the United States, and
its widely extended distribution has been owing to the many
requests received from every section of the South and South-

I towns and villages in the Union, and its .virtues as a cure for
