Gentlemen—I received a few lines trom you, dated Jlar.-u j
29th. requesting me to make a statement loyou of ail the l.eneri- (

Costek .V Cone’s Southern Tonic, i can but say to you. j
that from tlie limited experience I have with the Tonic, and .
as fa:- as 1 have used it. I am well pleased with^the article, j
The reason 1 was induced to make a trial cf the Tonic, «» j
inv having some patients who, from idiosynoracy of coiistitu- i
ticn. could not bear the quinine. 1 was compelled to re sort to j
some other remedy, and seeing in the papers this article highly-)
recommended. I resolved lo give it a trial, consequently J or
dered half a-dozen bottles front Mr. Powell in Mdledgevhic; j
and in using tins Tonic, I iound it necessary to admiji.ster iu J
larger doses than what is directed by the proprietors. By tiiis
means I was enabled to cheek the intermitting fever, in every
instance, where it had been given according to directions. I
havs also used this article with considerable benefit in chronic
complaints, where there was bectie fever. I have now r, pa
tient under treatment affected with elileosis; she is rapidly
convalescent. The patient, when I was called to see her, \ ms
