rr?* The Recorder is published weekly, on Hancock
street nearlv opposite the Masonic Hall, at Three Dollars
per annum payable in advance, or Four Dollars, if not
paid before’the end of the year.
Advertisements conspicuously inserted at the usual rates.
Those sent without a specification of the number of insertions,
will be published until ordered out, and charged accordingly.
Sales of land and negroes, by Administrators, Executors, or
Guardians, arc required by law to be held flu the first Tuesday
in the month, between the hours of ten in the forenoon and
three in the afternoon, at the Court-house of the county in
which the property is situate.—Notices of these sales must be
given in a public gazette S1XT7 days previous to the day of sale.
Notices for the sale of personal property must be given in
like manner, FORTY days previous to the day of sale. Also,
notice to the debtors and creditors of an estate must be publish
ed for FORTY days.
Notice that application will be made to the Court of Ordina
ry for leave to sell Ian i, must be published for FOUR MONTHS.

LARGE and commodious building, with recitation and
lecture rooms, sufficient to accommodate from 150 to
-00 young ladies, is just completed, and the Trustees confi
dently hope their efforts thus to promote the cause of educa
tion, will meet the approbation of the community.
Having been disappointed in relation to the services of Mr.

Rich ARns, who, with competent female assistants, will take
charge of the Seminary the ensuing year. Mr. R. has had
many years experience in the instruction of youth, and lia«
