commended to the attention of
the Aledica! Faculty, as well as
all who may be so unfortunate
as to require their use, as cam-
bitting advantages over every
thing of the kind which the ingenuity of man has here
tofore designed for these purposes. They are so con
structed as to fulfil every purpose that can be required
either as a supporter for the relaxed muscles of the
abdomen or for Hernia or rupture, requiring only a
change of pads for either purpose. It is also a supe
rior rilling brace. The Instruments are made of the
best material and in the most faithful manner. The
Springs are plated throughout with silver to prevent
rusting out, and iron rusting linen. They are not lia
ble to get out of order, and are believed to be the
most duraMe and economical, as well as the most
comfortable instruments that can he produced.

Griswold’s Cotton Gin.
IIE increased demand for these Gins rendered
necessary for the proprietor greatly to extend '
his works, which he is doing with entire new build- ;
ings. and superior new machinery, on the Central Rail
Road, at Griswoldville, Jones county, Georgia, 8^
mdes east from the city of Macon.
1 hese are not premium Gins. Not having got up a j
fancy one expressly fur that purpose, his sample Gins, j
are of the same quality, and of no better appearance,
than those sent to his customers ;—and without say- 1
ing he makes tiie best performing Gin in use, deems it j
equivalent to say, that his are in better demand than j
any other now in use—not having failed within the 1
last five years to sell double as many as any other 1
Factory in the State ; and will guarantee those he is I
now manufacturing for the ensuing crop, are tbe best j
made Gins in Georgia at the price, and worth as much j
to the purchaser, as the best he can get in any State j
at any price. 1
He would also caution Planters not to purchase '
Gins with Water Boxes from any other Factory than j
his, as he has paid a high price for, and owns the ex-

O N the 20th Januarv, 1851, a Negro Man. who
calls himself John, and says he is free, and that
his Guardian Jives ill South Carolina, Sumterville
District, bv the name of Major Read. John, when
caught, had one hundred and fifty dollars, a good pis
tol, and three pocket books in possession, which were
taken away from him by the taker up, so I understand.
John is about forty years old, has a large scaron the
right cheek of his forehead, as if he had been cut with
a knife. The Guardian or owners are requested to
come forward, prove property, pay charges, and take
