There is an old gentleman living in
this county, not more than half a dozen
miles from Sparta, who, though near!
eighty- years of age, has never seen
railioad train. He was at the Sparta
depot a few days since, loading his
wagon with guano, and after finishing
the job was informed that a freight train
would arrive in the course of fifteen
minutes, and he could enjoy his first
sight of it, but the industrious old fel
low hurried away with his team, as he
couldn’t afford to lose that much time.
