Bishop Pierce’s reputation as a pulpit

This commencement at Emory, all
things considered, was one of unusual
brilliancy and attractiveness. Beside
the distinguished divines and States,
men present, Oxford was honored by
the presence of numbers of belles from

Columbus, Covington and Macon, were
each well represented; and of the latter
place in particular was this true. A
large number of the graduating class of
the Wesleyan Female College was in
attendence, beside other representatives
of that Institution. Macon, in the opin

the first prize in the person of Master
Walter M. Jackson, and boasting of the

to the road was repaired and trains are j
