The colored Methodist Conference has

week—Her. Bishop Pierce was in at' j
tendance, working earnestly with (lie I
brethren. Bishop Vanderhorst presided
over the body. The Conference was
largely attended—nearly two hundred
ministers being present. It was an |
orderly body and the Bishop is thankful
for kind attentions.
If Gen. Wade Hampton or August Belmont
or Charles O’Conor were not in every way
satisfied with the purposes^of the South Caro
lina Land and Immigration Association, they
would not be found among those who recom
mend the public to purchase tickets to the
Concerts to be given in Charleston on the 8th
of January next, and at, the same time take ore
chance in sixty-two of drawing one of the
2405 gifts that are to be distributed on that
occasion.
Orders for tickets to the Concerts of the
Sonth Carolina Land and Immigration Asso
ciation at Charleston on the 8th of January are
said to be flowing in. Now is the time to buy.
Price only $4 each; with one chance in sixty-
two to draw a fortune in cash among the 2405
gifts that are offered.

The past season has been the most unfavorable one for Fertilizers since the general introduc
tion of them into the States of Georgia rnd South Carolina. In tlie early Spring it was much
too wet, the grass and weeds getting a powerful start, while later on, and when the plant was
generally in a most promising condition, there came, at a most critical time, a severe drought,
which cut down the yield of the crop very materially. Yet with all these disadvantages, we
believe that there are very few instances, out of the thousands where Wliann’s was used, where
it fail«d to pay the planter a profit on its cost, iu the extra yield over aud above the natural pro
duction of the land. We trust it will be many years before we have such an unfavorable sea
son again. We have arranged to sell Whann’s at same prices and terms as last season, say $51
cash per ton of 2,000 lbs., delivered on tue cars at Charleston or Savannah; $60 per ton of
2,000 lbs., delivered on cars at Charleston or Savannah, on credit till 1st Nov. 1872, secured by
lien note and agent’s guarantee, or factor’s acceptance, or 450 lbs. Liverpool Middling cotton

of the plan of the city of Milledgeville, con
taining two acres; also, an undivided half in
terest in a parcel of land on tho North West
Common of the city of Milledgeville, known as

acres, more or less; also, the place known aa
the Jarratt place, in Baldwin county, adjoin
ing the lands of Mr. Henry Stephens and Mr.
Ivey, and about one mile from Whiting Bta-
