Time and Ealiehteird Experience h ave shown that certain substances formerly used and relied on in medical practice, are unnecessary and dangerous; yet some of these substances have found their way into medical compounds. Dr. Walker’s California Vinegar Bi tters, however, contain nothing injuri ous, being composed exclusively of ve getable substances from California. For all disorders of the liver, kidneys, blad der, skin, and digestive organs, and for purifying the blood, they are the most wonderful remedy known. Aug. 1. midsummeiTmaladies. The hot solar rays that ripen the har vests generate many distresing diseases. If the liver be at all predisposed to ir regularities, this is the season in which bilious attacks may be anticipated. A weak stomach, too, is weakest in the summer months, and the loss of vitality through the pores bylexcessive perspira tion, is so great, that a wholesome tonic, combining also the properties of a diffu sive stimnlaut and gentle exbilarant, is in many cases necessary to health, and under no circumstances should be dis pensed with by the sickly and debilitat ed. Of all the preparations iutended thus to refresh, sustain and fortify the human frame, there is none that will compare with Hostetter’s Celebrated Stomach Bitters. They have been weighed in the balance of experience and not found wanting; have been re commended from the first as a great medicinal specific, not as a beverage, and in spite of interested opposition from innumerable interested quarters, stand, after a twenty years trial, at the head of all proprietary medicines intended for the prevention and cure of all ordiuary complaints of the stomach, the liver, the bowels, and ,the nerves. In the un healthy districts bordering the great rivers of California, Hostetter’s Stomach Bitters may be classed as the standard one for every species of intermittent or remittent fever. The people who in habit those districts, place the most im plicit confidence in the preparation—a confidence that is increased every year by the results of its operation. As bitters, so called, of the most per nicious character, are springing up like fungi on every side, the public is here by forewarued against the dram-shop frauds. Ask for Hotstetter’s Bitters, see that the label, etc., are correct, and re member that the genuine article is never sold in bulk, but in bottles only. Aug. CRIMSON CLOVER. Hancock is mistaken when he ;s that T. J. Adams was nomin al by Washington county and that mcock took no part in it. It is e there was no regulat meeting of legates from the three counties, t it was done in this way : Mr. em Brown, a citizen of Hancock, lifted this county that an informal ■eting had been held in Linton d nominated Mr. T. J. Adams for nator. So, when the convention this county met, recognizing the dit of Hancock to the candidate, that time, they acquiesced, be- ving that no belter selection than Adams could be made, and so 1 matter rested until the day be- e the election commenced, when 3 were informed that Mr. Adams d positively declined and that incock would nominate no other in. Then we, not like Hancock, lling to surrender the fight, began look about for another candidate, nen Mr. Z. H. Houghton came for- ird and offered to run if no other m would. Then we started Mr. H. Pitman and T. J. Gilmore to lily the other counties. On the st morning of the election, Dr. J. Roberts came to Sandersville, di ctly from Milledgeville, with print- i tickets with Adams’ name on em, and stated that Adams was dng voted for in Baldwin and aneock, Mr. Houghton at once agnanimously came down and we ?stroyed his tickets and voted for dams. He received the nexthigh- t vole, and when the negroes were j irned out, was seated and served aly as Senator, and drew pay for ie same, until the negroes were re skin, leaving the complexion brilliant and beantiful. T HESE GINS were sold the past season for the tirst time. They are made under Mr. G ullett’s personal supervision, at his works in Louisiana, who never allows one to be sent from bis works until it has been fully tested, and made to gin perfectly in every res pect. This mode of testing is very important to the purchaser, as he does not run the risk of receiving aud setting up a Gin to find it, on trial, to be imperfect. The IMPROVED GIN differs materially from the Steel Brush Gin formerly sold by us, inasmuch as the Steel Brush has three brush es, while the New Gin has but one. We guarantee every Gin to be of very light draft, to thoroughly clean the seed, and make a superior sample. Bcsincs, It is simple in its construction, easily adjusted aud gins very fast. We respectfully refer to all those who have used the Improved Gin the past Winter. Planters wishing Gins will consult their own interests by either writing to us for our Circu lar with Certificates, or calling at our office and exainini g for themselves before purchas ing elsewhere.
