I PRESENT TO THE PUBLIC my annual list of new
and rare Seed for 1807, many of which I send out the
fiist time this season.
Marblehead Mammoth Drumhdad Cabbage.— (The
largest Cabbage in the World. Weighs from thirty to
sixty pounds to the head, and is tender and sweet/ No
cabbage does so well in the South as this.) Cannon Ball
Cabbaoe. —(About as round and hard as a cannon ball.
An early sort, and the hardest headed of all Cabbage.)
Stone Mason Cabbage.— (Standard Variety of Winter
Drumhead Cabbage in Boston market. Under good cul
tivation, every plant on an acre will make a large and
hardhead. It is remarkably tender and sweet. In half
ounce packages. [25 cents.]
American TurbanSqitash.— (The dryest, finest grained,
and best flavored of all Fall squashes. The packages con
tain about fifty seed.) Hubbard Squash.— (l was the ori
ginal introducer of this, and the seed is true.) Yoko
hama Squash.— (A new variety from Japan; is very pro
lific. The quality resembles a fine Crookncck, but is mucii
superior.) Boston Marrow Squash.— (My variety took
the premium for purity at the Annual Fair of the Massa
chusetts Horticultural Society in 1865.) Para Squash.—
(A bush squash from South America, which can be kept
into winter. Oblong in shape, of good size, fine-grained
and excellent quality ; far superior to any standard varie
ty of bush Squash. [ls cents.]
