Paine College HCOP accepting
summer programs applications
The Paine College Health Ca
reers (HCOP) Office is currently
accepting applications for its six
week Summer Academic Enrich
ment Program. The program is
designed to provide students
from minority and/or disadvan
taged backgrounds an opportu
nity to enhance their academic
skills and needed support to suc
cessfully compete, enter, and
graduate from health professions
schools. High school seniors in
terested in pursuing a health
profession career are encouraged
to apply. The application dead
line is March 1, 1997. For addi

Heritage of the Black West
video to be shown at museum
In recognition of Black History
Month, the Augusta-Richmond
County Museum theater will show
the video, Heritage of the Black
West.
The 25-minute video will begin
showing February 4. It tells the
story of black frontiersmen and
women and their relationship with
Native Americans, and about pop
ular folk heroes, including buffalo
soldiers.

Programs in the theater are
availabletomuseum visitors Tues
day through Friday from 1:30 -
4:30 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 2 -
4:30 p.m. The regular admission
fee includes use of the theater.
The museum is open from 10
a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through
Saturday and from 2 - 5 p.m. on
Sunday. For more information,
