big-band music of all time) and
Bob Florence (like Nestico, an
“oldie,” but just now coming into
his own in term of fame).

singing, Rudy will probably play
another tuba solo, and Augusta’s
home-town 18-piece big-band will
play a tune or two off their re
cently released CD—all in all, a

The National Heart, Lung and
Blood Institute, which funded the
$12.1 million study, announced its
early halt to the study in Septem
ber, saying the 90 percent reduc
tion in stroke incidence amongchil
dren who received regular blood
transfusions was too compelling
to continue the study, which was
to have continued for 16 months.
