There were 10,689 bales of cot
ton ginned in Henry county from
the crop of 1925 prior to Decem
ber 13, as compared with 5,385
ginned in December, 1923.
On last Thursday evening the
McDonough Men’s Evangelistic
Club gave a banquet at the Brown
House. The Methodist Woman’s
Missionary Soeety served. H. B.
Neal, president of the club, was
toastmaster.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Tarpley, of
Hampton, announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Helen, to
Mr. Llewellyn Heard, of Macon,
the marriage to be solemnized at
an early date.
Murray Copeland arrived home
from Johns Hopkins at Baltimore
Tuesday to spend the holidays.

nual Christmas rabbit stew will he
held at this place at 6 o’clock on
the evening of Saturday, Decem
ber 27. About 30 hunters spent
