There is perhaps no medical observation
better established, none more generally con
firmed by toe experienceofthe bust physici
ans of all ages and countries! and none ol
nore importance to the human family, than
i be fact that many of the most difficult nnd in
curable consumptions originate in neglect- c
colds.. In a climate so variable u ours, where
the changes of the weather are frequently
sudden and unexpected, it require* move cart
and attention tn guard against this dangerour
enemy of file, than most people imtgine or
sre able and willing to bestow. The bills ot
mortality exhibit the mclsncholy fset that the
proportion of deaths by this disease may bt
considered u about fire to one. Inasmuch
then as this fatal disease frequently bids defi
ance to the skill of the most learned physici
ins,it is a gratification to the pronrietor that
tie ta enabled to oiler to those afflicted with
it, a got diy prospect of relief, in that highly
valuable remedy, the Vegetable Indian Speci
fic. The Indians ate happy in their know-
ledge of medical plants; governed wholly by
experience, they are certain at to their effect,
and it is said by an author of great character,
that a true consumption ia a disease never
known among them.
This Specific is obtained by extrsetion from
herbs, robtt, flowers, plants Ac. when in per
fection. In consequence of* happy combina
tion of the most vtluable herbs, Ac. it becomes
a balsam of a superior value. It heals the in
jured parti, opens the pores, and composes
toe disturbed nerves, after the manner of at.
anodyne/ consequently the obstruction ot
the eheat and the lungs which constitute this
disease, particularly need it* use. It promotes
expectoration, which ia constantly called for,
and whilst it cleanses and heals, it also gives
strength to the tender lungs. In this manner
it removes the hectic fever, improves diges
tion, give* strength to the nerves, repairs toe
appetite and improve! toe ipirits. This speci
fic may always be given in safety it is mild,
piesasnt to the taste, and may safely be given
- o infanta, for which it ia of inestimable value.
It afl’ords relief in bowel complaints, teething,
whooping coughs, tie. and is found particu
larly useful in hypochondriacal, nervous and
hysterical disease*. Each bill ot direction
contains a detailed account of this disease in
sil its different stages, and will be accompa
