Tlio inquiries to-day coutiuue considora-
Surar. The business done last week in
Muscovadocs was quite inconsiderable i the
greater proportion of tho brokers did not
offer anv Sugars for sale.
CY/Tec—There were no public sales ot
Coffee last week ; the demand by private
contract was languid, and the nearest price
of St. Domingo was stated at 77s i a con
tract of 2700 bogs St. Domingo tor arrival
was reported at 70s. Tlio request for Ja
maica, and other descriptions suitable tor
home consumption, has lately boon consid
erable, and the sales reported by private
contract were at prices 5s a 8y higher than
were obtained at the Inst public sale i good
ord. Jamaica Tie a 77s.
There were two public sales advertised
for this forenoon, but only one took
place. 754 bags, 30 casks Havana •, fine
ord. sold 73s a 75s ; good ord. 71s a 72s ;—
ordinary 60s a 70s. Tlio market for this
description of Coffee must, in consequence,
be stated 3s a 4s lower to-day ; the other
consisted of Jamaica descriptions: after
one or two lets wore bought in, the whole
was withdrawn.
Corn.—Tlio Wheat trade continued very
dull throughout last week, and at rather low
er prices; hut having a short arrival yester
day, mid only a small shew of land carriage
wimples from Essex and Kent, there was a
little mure life in the trade, at rather butter
prices.
