Mr. IT W. Potter,
Dear Sir—You expressed a wish that
would give a concise statement of my suffer

the present propitious stage of iny disease.’
About five years ago, nil my passage from
Bordeaux, during the month of January, from
imprudent exposure on deck, I was seized
with a violent tever. Having no medical at
tendants on buard, I ws* compelled to bear
it, as I might for two weeks, when on my qr-
rival at Charleston, S.C. it was nested,as
Typhus. 'The skill of my Physician subdui d
the fever, but Phamix-like, the termination
of this gave ris" to a disease equally distreif .
ing, and which, till now, I had thought incur,
able, Varmus abscesses made thei- unwel
come appearance, particularly on the joints,
which were swelled to an enormous size.—
These gradually subsided into hard dimers,
one of which on my left knee affected the
bone—an incision was now made and a large
evacuation of DU*, mixed with piece* of bone
took plsce. In addition to this, 1 suffered the
most excruciating painsin my ioiiiis that mar.
ever experienced. Every thing that wsb
administered either p-sye me no relief or ser
ved to aggravate the Jiseave, the severity of
which increased wilh every succeeding year
Such was my painful si.ustion that I despaired

to dimmish, and soon censed altogether, tlie
ulcer from -v hence it proceeded being com

of which l hsve tried in vain more remedies
than 1 can name, are rapidly decreasing ; my
appetite, which Was gone, has returned—Ian.

few bottles more of your, (in me) invaluable
medicine, will make me periecily so.

My confidence in the vegetable catholieon

powers arc daily occurring, in my own prac

Sin—In consequence of imprudent expos
urefour < ears ago. I had the misfortune to be
come afflicted with a disease, the painful re
sult! of whieh induced me to apply in auc-
cesston to several respectable physicians of
this city, from whom, however, I received
either no relief, or from whose remedies 1 re
ceived another complaint quite as distressing
as tlie former. My wholesyatem became af
fected. I could get no rest at night on ac
count of the violent pain that I felt in every
part of my body/ the weakness and enacts
tion of which waa such that I could scarecljr
walk. In this state I fortunately heard of
your vegetable catholieon—four bottles of
whiob, hu completely restored me, I have
oow no pain i my appetite ia good j and my
strength restored With many thanka for
tho relief your medicine hu given me, I am

Sir—I am now, thanks to your medicine, a
hearty mat. For nearly' six years I have been
a martyr to a disease, whose ravages threat

my existence. Having had no regular medi

complaint at last got to auoh a height that I
could not awtllow without great pain and
