may have originated, and if any doubt exists, as to

TO MAKE TABLE JELLIES—Use alien*!
two ounces or Conner's Refined American Isin
glass, which should be fiivt soaked in cold water
for two hours; drain filfth it water, then take two
quarts of cqlti water, one rind a half pound of sti
ff or, pul in it the white of three eggs, thu juice of
three good sized lemons, the peal of one, u stick
of cinnamon, a little nutmeg, orange peal, or
other spice to suit the taste; stir all the ingredients
well together while cold, then boil tho whole
mass four or five minutes, and then pour it
through a Jelly Bag; when it may bo put into
glasses or moulds, and when cold, will be fit for
use. The moulds should he first wet with a lit
tle white of egg and 'water just before tho jellv
is put in them, in order to make it en.-y to titrii
them out on plates.
The Jelly Hag is made of flannel 8 or 10 inche.
across the opening, and about half a yard, deep,
narrowing to a point nt the bottom. ‘The liquid
that runs through first, should be poured back in
thejcllcy bag until it runs through clear.
Add one pint of wine to the above for Wine
Jelly. _ Other liquids made from preserves, may

Mr. Editor: Sir,—My sense of duty to my suf
fering fellow mortals bus induced me to make tho

should you see proper to give it in whole or ip
part, a place in your valuable paper, it may prove
beneficial to some poor follow sufferer, "in the
winter of J834, and tile day after I had a hard day’s
work lifting and moving logs, l was taken with u
violent pan; in iny hack and loins, and tho day
following with a total suppression or stoppage of
urine. (.1 was then a citizen of Jones cmmtv,
Ga.] I immediately called In a physician of grout
eminence and distinction ; for thirty-six hours I
siitlbred as milch, to all appearance, as it was
possible for human nature to endure, uud at last
found relief ouly by die help of the cuiheter. I
applied then to several eminent physicians both
in Baldwin and Jones, without receiving uny ben
efit other than a temporary relief, for my com
plaint would every two or three days return, and

moved to this county, arid brought with mu my
tormenting complaint and my friendly catheter.—
Hero, as there, I applied to the most skillful phy-
sieians, as l tho light, and here, as there, I recei v

to try Dr. M. S. Thomson, of .Macon, and though

theter three or four times daily. In this misera
ble plight I left home, went to Dr. Thomson,
stated niv case to him, and lie gave me modicuie.
In half uu hour utter taking his first dose; I fob that
ease, and had that free and copious discharge of
urine which l had not felt or had iu almost nine
years. And from that time to this present day,

of England, containing every active ingredient
found in those Waters. If the Planters of this
neighborhood were once to get into, the habit of
using the Blue Lick Water, they would not do
without it for any consideration. It is put up in

offline in any climate.
