County of Chutliam, having recommended an
additional tax tu aid in thu support of common
schools, tho funds assigned by tlio State foF
that ptirpusn proving entirely inadequate to olfect
the olijucts intended to lie accomplished, the Jus*
ticos of the Inferior Court, desirous of comply,
ing with this recommendation,but without resort*
iitg to un increase of tlio present taxes, have de
cided to make an appropriation for that object
from the present revenues of the county.
It is therefore ordered, That the interest de
rived from the sum of six thousand dollars, re
ceived fur the old Jail and lots, and now vested in
FiihHju Stocks, he und is hereby appropriated and
set apart, together with such further sum to *bu
paid out of the County treasury, ns shall makeup
the iimnunt of Jicc hundred dollars annually, lie
paid to thu Commissioners of Common Schools,
to he impropriated by them with the concurrence
•if the Justices of tho Inferior Court, to lltu sev
eral District schools, in such proportions as shall
lie deemed most beneficial: Provided, neverthe
less, that the inhabitants of each district shall
cause nueor intirc convenient and proper school
houses to lie built in each district, mid approved
