T HE NATIVE FEBRIFUGE,—
For the Cure of Bilious, Reinittont and In-

es incidental to u debilitated state of the system,
such us night sweats, &c. i&c.
The native Febrifugo is oft'ored. Tho proprie
tor is aware that tho common objections to ull new
prepared jus will bo urged ugninst tiiis. To obviato
ull such objections, he has simply to stato that it is
prepared according to tlio receipt of an eminent
physical!, who used it .with perfect success
through along practice, in perhaps the most sick
ly region of our country, viz: the Mississippi val
ley* Again from tlie exalted estimation in which
Quinine is held, not only by tho people, but by
tlie most skillful physicians, it will appear sutiera-
rogatory to offer any now article. But tho Nativo
Febrifuge possesses all the power and certainty
of Quinine in controlling Fover without alfecting
Uie head, and may bo safely used tlie re for, where
Quinine is inadmissible. It is not the purpose of
fee proprietor however sanctioned by custom on
such occasions, to attempt a display of medical
knowledge by adopting some ono of the contra
dictory theories afloat, with regard to the charac
ter mid causes of Fever.
Behoving with tho learned Gregory thnt though
there has boen so much written concerning Fever
there is no oue subject in tlio whole circle ofmedi-
cal science which still involvos so muny disputed
f feints. Letting all theories pass, wo stand by
iicts. The first of which is that tho Native Fe
brifuge will euro fever, from whatever cause it
may have originated, nnd if any doubt exists, as to
tho fact wo invito tlio affiiotod to tho tost, wife
confidence os to tho issue. What it 1ms done it
will do. Tim following cortificato of ono well
known will show what it has done:
Savannah, 12th May, 1847.
Mr. Jos. A. La Roche having rcqneslod mo to
state my knowledge of tho Native Febrifugo, I
tako pleasure in stating that it was used benefici
ally in tho Fevers of tho valloy of tho Mississippi
uud Arkansas, in ull cases in whicli Quiniue is us-
ttally exhibited, nnd was ndmissablo in conges:
tions ofthe brain whon Quinine was supposed to
bo conlradicated.

DonrSig—Iu complianco with my promise to
lot you hoar from mo, with regard to tho olfect of

lowing statement of facts. For noarly 3 years my
wife has been laboring under tlio olfects of con
tinually recurring Chills and Fovors, notwith
standing ull Uro remedies prescribed by our host
Physicians, und at tho time I procured Tim Na
tive Febrifugo, wc had become perfectly despon
dent, fearing that death alono would terminato her
disease, but I urn happy to state that tlio use of
one bottle has broken Urn Fever completely and
restored her so far as to require only a little time
to recruit her wusted energies nnd place her in
porfecthealth, such iius boen the change produc
ed in iior habit and constitution by The Native

boon made within a few years, in the instruments
or woighing merchandise, is a fact familiar to busi
ness nirni. The untimio clumsy and inaccurate
methods of weighing, havo .given way to the in
vention of Americun mechtmicnl skill, nnd the ut
most precision has beon attained. A variety of
l latform Balnnces are manufactured and usod,
which cannot be relied on for any cousideralilo

of Mr. Fmrbaiik, which have been extensively
used in nil parts of the United StatAi for several
years, nnd given, us fer as our knowledgod ex

one of those scales three years since, and have us
ed them constantly for weighing paper, &c. and
for accuracy aud durability, we. are quite sure,
they have not, and perhaps cannot, be surpassed.
The plan of construction » philosophical ami
simple. The employment of two levers, with a
single beam, is certainly the most practicable, in
a compound platform balance. Any increoso of
the number of lovers or un additional boam, ren
ders the instrument more complicated, less preciso
in’its operation and more liable to dernngoment.
There scules are used by many of the lending
merchants of NeiV York, whose written testimony
to their superior excellence has been freely ac

Every fifing seemed to point iny mind to one
object, viz.: tho preparation of this herb into a
medicine. I then determined to return to the city
or W. York. I did so, and immediately inquired
for„ the herb. It was not to be found. I then
sontto Europe und there found it under another
name.
Having prepared tlio nrticlo to iriy satisfaction,
I gave it away to all who would use it. Hun-
dreda, 1 might say thousands, look , it into thoir
fiiniilies and usod it: .some for ono tiling and
somo for another, and all from tlio vory first to
the very last, proupuuccd it of unrivaled excel
lence and power.
Tho first case that came undor ray observation,
was n man that had lost the use of his arm for
some years. The Ointtnont restored lfia artu
completely in a few days. This surprised mo as
much as it did tho pattern. After him there come
a man with sore eyes produced by gunpowder—a
vory bad caso indeed. One box only sulfided to
make a perfect cure. And I would here remark
that hundreds have been cured of sore eyos,
who never found any relief but iu this Oint
ment.
There next entno a woman who was suffering
excruciating pain from tho ague in tho face.—
Her physician (thUikiug it the toothache,) had
extracted oleven of her tooth. But tlie difficulty
still, remained as bud us ever. Tho Application
of tho All Healing Ointment was attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Herfaco however,
began to swell, and tlio surfuco was covered over
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In
one day ull this disappeared; About tho same
time, a lady made application with it for the
headache of long staudiug, aud a fulling of tlio
huir. The Ointment cured her headucho, und
restored her hair. Since this, I havo known tlio
Ointment to euro cases of ten, twenty and forty
years standing. I hesitate nut to say, that it is
idniost uu infallible remedy for tiffs complaiut.
About this tinio there wore two cases, ono of
Consumption, und the other of Scrofula, which
had bullied tlie skill of every physician who pres
cribed; It was wonderful to witness the ofVectnf
tho Ointment on these persons. No one would
buliovo it unless thoy hud personally witaessed it.
But it did tlio work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered tlieir health iu a
few months.
Uhamurttisui, Fover, Quiuzy, Sore Throat, Cu
taneous Eruptions, diseases of tho Spine, and
Nervous Complaints wore treated with unheard
of success. Butin Chest diseases, such ns Asth
ma, pain nnd oppression, I bolievo there is no bet-
ter remedy. Also, the common diseases, such as
Ulcer Sores. Scald Head, Humors of the Skiu,
Inflammation, Piles, Sore Eyes, Sprains, Brtiisos,
and Burns, it seems to bo u porfect antidote.—
People would come into tlie store smiling, wish
ing to know if I was,Really tho Seventh Son, or
whether tho Ointment thut I gave them was indeed
all-heating iu its nature. For said they, not ono
single application lins failed to cure.
Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with
great aud uuivcrsaUuccess.
It prodncodHiicIi good results in all cases that it
has beon noised abroad, nnd I wus oflered sums of
money for a receipt to make it for private uso
merely. Evoiy man spoke well or it, us it bud
doneso much good.
Not withstanding ull, I have been careful not to
recommend it, except in euses 1 knew it would do
good. 1 lynsnovor willing to lend myself to any
thing without first testing its merits. This I en
deavor to do on every occasion, and whon I acted
as ono of file Sick Committee in tlio Lodge of I.
O. of O. F. I Uninvested it upon BroUiors in tho
mostcritical conditions, and hud abundant oppor
tunity of proving its worth.
And, iu conclusion, I would remark thnt I havo
placed this Ointment before the people ofthe U.
States during the lust nine or twolvo mouths, and
so general has been tho satisfaction, aud so great
amount or good dono, that more than half a mill
ion of boxos hnvo already boon sold. I do really
believe there never was a medicine which gained
such widespread, universal and unanimous satis
faction us tlio All-Healing Ointment. From all
parts of the laud Uicrc havo come up ono deep,
sincere uud universal voice of approbation sayiug
“McAlister Uiy tongue hath dropped the word of
truth and love, while henfth forever attends thy
foot stops." And wore I now to give all thegood
sayings or tho pooplo, tlieir unqualified approval,
tlieir thankful ness aud gratitude, their joy at rceov
uring from diseaso and sickuesa, I could fill a

plaint would evory two or three days return, and
the catheter was my only helper. In 1B37 I re
moved to this county, and brought with ino my
tormenting complaint andniy friendly catheter.—

after having spent a groat deni of money (at least

I entertained the most violent projudico to his
mode of practice, my ncceswity compelled mo to
