The native Febrifuge is otlured. The proprie

through a long practice, in. perhaps thu most sick

The first case that came under iny observation,
was u man tlmt had lost the use of his arm for
some years. The Ointment restored his arm
completely in a low days. This surprised me as
much as it did tlio patient. After him there came
a limn with so|*o eyes produced hy gunpowder—a

winter of 1834, and the day after I lmd a Imrdilay’s

violent pain in my hack and loins, and the day
following with it total suppression or stoppage of

Ga.] 1 immediately called iu u physician nfgreiit
eminence and distinction ; for thirty-six hours I
stilVercd as much, to all appearance, as it was
possible for human nature to endure, and at last
found relief only hy the help of the catheter. I
applied then to several eminent physicians hath
in Baldwin and Jones, without receiving any ben
efit other than a temporary relief, for mv com
plaint would every two or three days return, and
the catheter was my only helper. ' In 1^37 l re
moved to this county, ami brought with me my
tormenting complaint and my friendly catheter.—-
Here, ns there, I applied tn the most t-kiliml phy

ed no benefit from them, iu September 18-12,
after having stiftered nt times the most excrucia

after having spout a great deal of money (at least
$5!)i)) on doctors during tlio time, I was induced
to try Dr. M S. Thomson, of Mncoit, nud though
l entertained tlm most violent prejudice to his
mode of practice, my necessity compelled me to
go, for 1 had then been confuted to my house for
ten days, and had to resort to the use oftlm ca
theter three or four times daily. In this misera
ble plight I lull home, went to Dr. Thomson,
slated my ease to him, and he gave me medicine.
In half mi hour after taking his first dose, l feltthat
ease, and had that free and copious discharge of
urine which I had not felt or had iu almost nine
years. And from that time tn this present day,
March ‘20di, 1847, I have had no return of niy
complaint, and no more use for my catheter, lii
order to make the euro permanent I continued
the use of the medicine several mouths. Since
then I Like nothing for it. I oat, drink, sleep,
and work as in former days, and feel as well amt
sound as ever I was. You may well suppose that
it did not tako long to banish prejudice at tlmt
