Win. Humphrey’s, Jr—Heir Sir:—Permit me
to drop a few lines to yon in behalf ofvour vain
able medicine. 1 have recommended it in two
cases as being the best Medicine for the cure of
the Fever and Ague, ami told them if it did not
cure I would refund the money. But as your
medicine ha* proved itself so far, I do no not
hesitate to recommend it to the public as a cer

disease so troublesome in the lower countries,
which would be banished by the use of Hum
phrey's Remedy, a most valuable medicine for
the South. Enclosed vou will receive a certifi

County, and ah*o of a young Lady who resides in
my family. I am your ohd’t servt,

HERE’S ANOTHER.
3Ir. Humphreys.—Dear Sir:—I hand your

proper. This i* to certify that I had the Fever
and Ague several times very severe, and found
no relief until through the persuasion of 3Ir. W.
Carr, yonr agent for Humphreys' Valuable Fever

Just in time.
Mr. Win. Humphreys—Dear Sin—With the
S eatost pleasure I recommend yonr celebrated

perfect degree than any known remedy, tonic
and alteranre powers, and is highly recommend
ed by eminent physicians. It is prepared m con-
sequence of the recommendstions given by Dr.
H. R. Frost, Professor of Materia Medica in the
Medical College of Charleston, S. C. in his work
on 3fateria Medica, only concentrated by a pro
cess of the subscriber** to render it more conven

the addition of mercury which may at all times.be

There are few cases of chronic and painful
Rheumatism that will not yield to the influence of
Sarsaparilla and Queen's Delight if duly prese
vered in, especially if taken in conjunction with
Hrdr. of Potash. ,
Is highly recommended for all diseases of the
skin, chronic as well as recent. One bottle will,
in most instances, effectually remove all pimples,
postale* or blotches on the Taco, to which young
persons in this climate are so much subjected to,
arising either from impurity of the blood or de
bility. It is the best remedy known for scrofu
lous affections, sores and breakings out in young
children, and is safe and efficacious in removing
entirely every trace of hereditary diseases from
the system, in the tenderest infant; in fact, in all
cutaneous affections it is invaluable. At a gen
eral purifier of the blood, and an eradicator of all
obstinate diseases, this preparation will undoubt
edly take the precedence of all other remedies. It
gently operates upon and regulates the bowels,
restores to the blood its wonted purity, gives tone
to the stomach, and promotes digestion.
It wrll effectually relieve Erysipelas even in its
worst stages, and all persons suffering from this
distressing complaint are advised to use it, firrt
so, but if no marked relief be fonnd after taking
one bottle, it will be necessary to use the Hydrio-

the Faculty.
It is a sore and safe remedy for Ulcers and
Sores, either fi-esh or of long durance. It stays
and prevents Gangrenes, and by a timely appli
cation will fruane many a valuable lift mud limb.
In cases of inveteracy ofUlcers, or a prone ness
of the affected parts to mortify, (or Gangrene.) it
wffi be advisable for the unfortunate sufferer to
resort to the use of some gentle purgative for a
few days previous to using the Plaster, and con
tinue the same till the cure is completed, which
may be confidently expected in a reasonable time.
No purgative more proper than Dr. Dyott’s well
known Anti-Billions Pills.
The Malengers of the Negroes is ranked under
the denomination ofUlcers; this valuable Plaster
is also a certain cure for it, if the same treatment
be observed as above.
Cancers, Erysipelas, Wens, Scrofula, Fistula,
White Swelling, Sore Breasts, Ferons, Whitlows
and Boils are removed, and cures happily pro
duced by the use of this valuable Piaster.
It' removes Abscesses, and dissipates collected
humours; it also cures Sprains, Bruises, Anthrax,
Scalds, Burns, and all Sores and Wonnds, tending
to suppurate; it draws cauterized Sores or Dsues
very successfully and without pun. It dissipates
distressing pain from Gout or Rheumatism in a
very short tune, and is a safe and certain cure for
Rheumatism and flying Rheumatic Pains, if the
Plaster be constantly applied to the affected parts
for six or eight months, the part* affected become
invigorated, and a cure seldom (ails to be com
pleted. It is also successfully used for the cure
of corns.
Those useful men, Bfariners, should never be
without JIahv’s valuable Plaster Cloth; it keeps
anr length of time equally good, and is particu

wounds, after they are suppurated, which it much
aids. It is necessary it should be kept dr}*.

seemed to tell me that Providence, whose special

never concentrated into one small herb so many

without a wise and good purpose. Here was to

Laboring under these impressions for several
years, I became uneasy, discontented, and un

in presenting such a body of evidence in the
form of certificates, it may not be improper to re
mark, in regard to their credibility, that they are
given many of them, by some of our best citi
zens, whose characters are well and generally
known, and whose residence* are particularly
pointed out, thus rendering the possibility of fraud,
deception or forgery, utterly out of thsqsestion.
for how could it be for one moment immagined
that falsehoods, thus issued in the light of day,
right under the immediate observation of those ia
terested, could be at all tolerated or allowed, es
pecially as they tend to subvert the interests of
those who scrutinize them with such Argus eyes
as would, if posable, detectan error in the Tbcth.
These considerations will at once indicate the
difference of credibility doe these, and those to

from nobody knows where', and circulated far
from their reputed source, for every body know*

Fairbanks Platform Seales.—It is not often that
we are induced to laud an article of trade, aud
we never do unless perfectly satisfied that we are
commending Houiething that is useful. We can
not consent to gratify the cupidity of an indivi
dual, at the risk of imposing the confidence of
thousand* of our readers who rely upon the hon
esty of our statements, if not in the infolibility of
our judineut. That greut improvement* have
been made within a few years, in the instrument*
of weighing merchandise, is a fact futniliar to busi
ness men. The antique clumsy and inaccurate
methods of weighing, have given way to the in
vention of American mechanical skill, and tho ut
most precision has been uttained. A variety of

used iu all part* of tho United States for several
years, nud given, ns far ns our knowledged ex

they have not, and perhaps cannot, be surpassed.
The plan of construction is philosophical and
simple. The employment of two levers, with a
single beam, is certainly tho most practicable, in
a compound plntfonu balance. Any increaso of
the number of levers or on additional beam, ren
der* the instrument more complicated, less precise
in it* operation and moro liable to derangement.

People would come into the store smiling, wish

whether the Ointment that 1 gave them was indeed

Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with
great and universal success.
It produced such good result* in all cases that it
has been noised abroad, and I was offered sums of
money for a receipt to make it for private use
merely. Every man spoke well of it, as it had

Not withstanding all, I have been careful not to
