A preparation, (by adding the Queon’s De

perfect degree than any kuown remedy, tonic
and alterative powers, and is highly recommend

11. R. Frost, Professor of Materia Modica in the
Medical College of Charleston, S. C. in hi* work
on Materia Modica, only concentrated by a pro
cess of tho subscriber’s to render it more conven

the addition of mercury which may at all tunes be
added when necessary. To show the high esti

to the ubovo mentioned work.
There are few cases of chronic nnd painful.

I* highly recommended for all diseases of the
skin, chronic as well as recent. Ono bottle will,
iu most instances, effectually remove all pimples,
postules or blotches on tho face, to which young
parsons in tins climate are so lunch subjected to,
arising either from impurity of the blood or de

children, and is safe and ctlicaciotis in removing
entirely every trace of hereditary diseases from
the system, in tha tenderest infant; iu fact, in all
cutaneous affections it is invaluable. As a gen

For tho Cure of lliliou*, Remittent and In

such as night sweats, &e. &c.
The native Fehriftigo is oifered. Tho proprie
tor is aware tlmt the common objections to all new
preparations will lie urged n^ainut this. To obviate
all such objections, lie has eunply to state that it is
prepared according to the receipt of an eminent
jdiysican, who used it with perfect success
through along practice, in perhaps the most sick
ly region of our country, viz: the Mississippi val
ley. Again from tho exalted estimation iu which
(iuininu is held, not only by the people, but by
the most skillful physicians, it will appear supere
rogatory to otter any new article. But tho Native
Febrifuge possesses ull the power and certainty
of Quinine iu controlling Fever without attecting

Quinine is inadmissible, lt is not the purpose of
tlio proprietor however sanctioned by custom on
Biicn occasions, to attempt a display of medical
knowledge by adopting some ono of tlio contra
dictory theories allout, with regard to the charac
ter and causes of Fever.
Believing with thn learned Gregory tlmt though
there 1ms been so much written concerning Fever
there is no one subject in the whole circle of medi
cal science which still involves ho many disputed
S toiuts. Letting all theories pass, we stand by
iicts. Tho first of which is that tlio Native Fe
brifuge will cure fever, from whatever cause it
may have originated, and if any doubt exists, as to
tlie*fact we invite the nttlictosl to the test, with
cnuttdeucc as to tlio issue. Wlmt it lias done it

for tho herb. It was not to Im found. 1 then
sent to Europo nud there found it under another
name.
Having prepared tho article to my Natisfuction,
I gave fit away to ull who would uve it. Hun
dreds, I might say thousands, took it into their
families nud used it: some for ono thing mid
some for another, mid nil from tlio very first to
tho voryJast, pronounced it of unrivaled excel
lence and power.
The first case that came under my observation,
was a man that had lost tho use of his arm for
some years. Tho Oiutiiiuiit restored his arm
completely in a few days. This surprised mo ns
much as jt did tho putiont. After him there came
a man with sore eves produced by gunpowder—a
very had cu*e indeed. Ono box only sufficiedto
make a perfect cure. And I would here remark
that hundreds have been cured of sore eyes,
who never found any relief but in this Oint
ment.

In presenting such a body of ©valence in the

mark, in regard to their credibility, that they are
given many of thorn, by some of our best citi

for how could it be for one moment iimnagincd

was Buttering
excruciating pain from tho ague iu the face.—
Her physician (thinking it the toothache,) had
extracted eleven of her teeth. But the diiliculiy
stitt remained as bad us ever. The Application
of the All Healing Ointment was 'attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Her face however,
began to swell, ami the surface was covered over
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In
one day all this disappeared. About the same
time, a lady made application with it for the
herniailie of long standing, mid « falling of the
hair. The Ointment cured her headache, and
dured her hair. Since this, I have known the
Ointment to cure cases often, twenty mid forty
years standing. 1 hesitate not to say, that it is
almost ait mtiiKihlc remedy for this complaint.
About this time there wore two eases, one nt
Consumption, and the other of Scrofula, which
had battled the skill of every physician who pres
cribed. lt was wonderful to witness the etteetof
the Ointment on these persons. No one would
believe it unless they had personally witnessed it.
But it did the work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered their health inn
few mouths.
Rheumatism, Fever, Qniiizv, Sore Throat, Cu
taneous Eruptions, diseases of the Spine, and
Nervous Complaints were treated with unheard
of success. Butin Chest diseases, such us Asth
ma, pain nud oppression, I believe there is uo bet
tor remedy. Also, the common diseases, such as
Ulcer Sore*. Scald Head, Humors of the Skin,
Inflammation, Pile*, So re lives, .Sprain*, Bruises,
and Burn*, it nconis to lie a perfect antidote.—
People would come into the store smiling, wish
ing to know if 1 was really tho Seventh Son, or
whether the Ointment that'I gave them was indeed
all-healing iu it* nature. For raid they, not one
single application lias failed to curo.
Liver Complaint, particularly, was treated with
great and universal success.
It produced such good results in all cores that it
has been noised abroad, and I was ottered sums of
money fur u receipt to make it for private ti*e
merely. Every limn Npokc well of it, us it had
done so much good.
Not with <ia tiding a!!, I have been careful not to
recommend it, except in cases I knew it would do
good. I was never willing to lend myself to any
tiling without first testing its merits. This L en
deavor to do on every occasion, mid when I acted
as one of tho Sick Committee in tho Lodge of I.
O. of O. F. I then tested it upon Brothers in the
most critical conditions, and had abundant oppor
Utility of proving its worth.
And, iu conclusion, I would remark that I have
plueeil this Ointment before the people of tho U.
States during the last nine or twelve months, and
so general has been the satisfaction, and so great
amount of good done, that more than half a mill
ion of boxes have already been sold. 1 do really
believe there never was a medicine which gained
such widespread, universal mid unanimous satis-
faction ns the All-Healing Ointment. From ull
parts of tho laud there have come up ono deep,
sincere mid universal voice of approbation saying
'•McAlister thy tnugttu hath dropped the word of
truth mid love, whilo health forever attends thy
footsteps.” And were I now to give all the goo’d
sayings of the people, their unqualified approval
following with a total suppression or stoppage of
urine. (I was then a citizen of Jones oounly,

tormenting complaint nud my friendly callieter.~
IIere, a* there, I applied to iho ino*t skillful phy-

ed no benefit from them. In September 1842,
after having suttered at times the most excrucia
ting pains for eight years mid nine months, and
after having spent a great deal of money (at feast
§5110) on doctor* during the time, I was induced
to try Dr. M. S. Thomson, of Macon, mid though
I entertained the most violent prejudice to his
mode of practice, iny necessity compelled me to
go, for I had then been confined to my limine for
teu d-ivs, mid had to resort to the use oftlic ou
tfit a-- dove or four times daily. In this misera
ble plight l left home, went to Dr. Thomson,
stated my ease to him, mid lie gave me medicine.
In half tin hour after taking hi* first dose, l felt that
case, mid had that free mid copious discharge of
urine which I had not fell or had in almost nine
years. And from that time to this present day.
March 20th, 1847, I have had no return ofniy
complaint, und no more use for my catheter. I n
order to make tlio cure permanent I eontimied
the use of the medicine several month-'. Since
then I take nothing for it. 1 out, drink, sleep,

it did not take long to banish prejudice at that
rate, nud I now sav to the afflicted, that 1 believe
in many instances that prejudice stand* more in
the way of their recovery than the incurability of
their diseases. Such, Mr. Editor, is my expe
rience of Dr. Thomson’* treatment, mid suc h the
results. Neither lie nor hi* remediei need any

Hunt’s Murcluml’s Magazine makes tho follow
ing comments upon this useful and convenient
article:
Fairbanks Platform Scales.—It is not often that
wo uro induced to laud an articlo of trade, and
we never do unless perfectly satisfied that we aro
commending something that is useful. Wo can
not consent to gratify the cupidity of nil indivi
dual, at the risk of imposing tho confidence of
thousands of our renders who rely upon the hon
esty of our statements, if not iu the mfulihUity of
our jiidmciit. That great improvements have
been made within n few years, in tho instruments
of weighing merchandise, is n fact familiar to busi
ness men. The anticiuc clumsy and innccurnto
methods of weighing, liuvo given way to the in
vention of American mechanical skill, and the ut
most precision lias been attained. A variety of
Platform Balances aro manufactured and used,
winch cannot be relied on for any considerable
degree of accuracy: so that tlioy necessarily in
volve ono party in pecuniary loss. It therefore
affords us plcusitro to refer to the Platform Scale*
of Mr. Fiiirbauk, which have been extensively
used iu all parts of the United States for several
years, and given, ns fiir as our knowledged ex
tends, very general satisfaction. Wo purchased
one of these scales three years since, mid have us
ed them constantly for weighing paper, &c. and
for accuracy and durability, we aro quit© sure,
they have not, nnd perhaps cannot, ho surpassed.
The plan of construction is philosophical and
simple. The employment of two lovers, with u
single beam, is certainly the most practicable, in
fl compound platform balance. Any increase of
tho number of levers or an additional beam, ren
ders the instrument more complicated, less precise
in its operation and more linblo to derangement.
These scales are used by many of the leading
merchant? of New York, whore written testimony
to their superior excellence has boon freely ac-
corded to the manufacturer*. jane 0
