JLV PLATES.—Tho subscribers beg to call the
attention of Builders, Architects and owners of
Buildings, to the many, advantages which these
dates possess over all other tnetalllo substances
iitherto used for roofing, &c.,as they possess at
once the'lightness of iron, without xt$ liability to
rust, having now been .tested for soveral years in
this particular, both in this country ana in Eu
rope. They are lest Kable to expansion and
contraction fYom sadden change of the atmos
phere, than common tin plates, iron, zinc, or any
other metal now used for roofing, and conse
quently form a much better and tighter roof; re
quiring far less fYequent repairs, whilst the first
cost is but a trifle more.

To tho Inhabitants of rtaraunali.
In conformity with a Resolution recently pass
ed by the Board of Health, I would coll your re
membrance to tae good state of Health enjoyed
by our Fellow-Citizens for years past, and to
urge upon you the necessity, if you desire a con
tinuance qfthat blessing, during the approaching
season, to keep under those local causes by u
prompt removal of all nnimal and vegetable de
composition, beyond the corporal limits of Sa
vannah. Cleanliness is an indispeusible ingre
dient of health. It ought to be observed by ull,
otherwise you invite disease, and the consequen
ces that necessarily follow in its train. We, your
Board of Health, earnestly entreat you to white
wash your Fences, Cellars, Out-nouses; and
freely use the (Sulphate Ferri) Copperas in pro
portion of two pounds to three gallons of water,
in your sinks aud other places emiting unpleas
ant effluvia. For the belter advancement ot
health, we would suggest that each citizen adopt
a feeling that he nlac is a member of this Board,
by giving his attention to the cleanliness of his
premises.and those around him.
The Board of Health expects their Fellow-
Citizens will afford them aid in their weekly vis
its, to enable them to effect strict examinations
and faithful reports.
Your Board of Health requests that yon make
known through the medium of its Chairman,
Ward-Committees, City Marshal, or by letter
through the Post Office, of any nuisance or de
posit that mny be calculated to produce disease.
The duty assigned to us is an arduous one. If
we meet with a cordial and approving support,
then shall we feel that our labors have not been
without effect.
SOLOMON SHEFTALL,
Chairman Board of Health.

T HE WIFE’S FRIEND.—Important
to those about to become Mothers.-—-Professor
ALEXIS V. PAULITAN, ofthe Paris Lying-in
Hospital, member of the Medical Academy of
France, Corresponding Secretary of the Paris
Pharmaceutical College, respectfully begs lcavo
to announce to the Ladies of America, that lie
has appointed Dr. Jerome Y. C. RopENitURTr,
of New York, his sole American Agent, for the
sale of his wonderful medicine, known in France
as Tho Wife’s Friend, or Mother’s Assistant the
most extraordinary medical discovery the world
has ever seen. Its province is to Lessen the
Pains of Child-Birth, nnd promote a safe, easy,
and speedy delivery, which it does by assisting
nature. It is perfectly harmless, efficacious,
pleasant to the taste, and never failsto promote
an easy and safe delivery, and improves the gen
eral health of both mother and child. It hns been
tested for years in all the principal Lying-In Hos
pitals of Europe, and receives the sanction of
nearly all tho prominent Colleges and Medical
tnen of the old world. It is thegreatestmedicine
in the world ; ns all will admit that n medicine
must be thatwill lessen the terrible pains usually
attendunton childbirth. There is no mistake ti-
bout this medicine doing all that is said of it.
It never fails. It is in the form of a fiuo. light
powder, to be made iuto a drink, and lined for a
few weeks previous to the expected event, nnd
its price is so low as to bring it within the reach
of all. Surely no hu mane husband will suffer
his wife to endure pain, when itcan bo so easily
nnd cheaply avoided. For the small sum of only
$1,00. sent pout paid to DR. JEROME Y. C.
KOPENHURTY, New York - Post Office, n
package will he sent by return mail, it being so
light that it can be sent anywhere by mail, at u
very trilling cost. GF*No unpaid letters taken
from the office. To prevent imposition. thoU.
8. Agent, Dr. Ropenhurty will write his name
in full on the outside label of each package. No
other genuine. Remember this. Gmos mar 10

for Piaster cloths. Sutures. Bandages, &c.—This

much preferable to court plaster and gold boater’s

This ono herb, under die foft*e 'of the Retort

properties. This fact struck my mind «o forcibly,
•hat it was im'ttortfibfo to get rid of it. Something
seemed to tell me that ProVidctico, whose rfjpecifci

never concentrated into otte small herVsb man)

Ithaugh perfectly identical ns the htiinan blood,'

bo found the acids, the alkalis, the oils, the water,’
theair, thu salt**, the soda, &c.,all combined, eon*
centrirted. and chemically united into one single '
lenient of power, forming a substance more al

over before discovered ih the works of nature.
Laboring under these niipressions for several
years, 1 became Wrteasy, discontented, and un
willing to confine myself longer to tho duties of a
farmer.
Everything seemedio point tny blind to ni
object, viz.: the preparation of tins herb into o
medicine. I then determined tb return to the city
of N. York. I did so, and immediately inquired
for tire herb. It was not to bo found. I then
sent to Europe and there found it under another
name.
Having prepared the article to my satisfaction,
I gave it away to all who would use it. Hun
dreds, 1 might say thousands, took It into their
families and used it: some for one tiling and
some for another, and all from tho very firtt to
tho vary last, pronounced it of unrivuled excel*
ence and power.
Tho first case that came under my observation,
was a man that had lost the use of his arm for
some years. The Ointment restored his uim
coinnletely in a fcW dnys. This surprised me os
much ns it did tho patient. After him thore coin*
a man with sore eyes produced by gtityiowder—n
very bad case indeed. Ono box only 'sufficied to
make a perfect cure. And I would Ifftre rentalk

Thete next came a woman .who was suffering
excruciating pain from the ague iu the fntfo.--
Iler physician (thinking it the toothache,) had
oxtructed eleven of her teeth. But the difficulty
■till remained as bad ftsuv'er. The Application
of the All Healing Ointment was Attended with
immediate cessation of pain. Her face however,
began to swell, aud the surface was covered aver
with pimples of eruption like prickly heat. In
ono day all this disappeared. About the Eome
time, a lady made application with it for tho
headache of long standing, and a failing of tile
hair. The Ointment cured her headache, and
restored her hnir. Since this, I have known the
Ointment to euro cases of ten, twenty and forty
years standing. I hesitate not to say, that it us
almost an infallible remedy for this complaint.
About this time there were two cases, one of
Consumption, nnd the other of Scrofula, which
had hnflled the skill ol every physician who pres
cribed. It was wondorinl to witness the effect of
the Ointment oh these persons. No one would
believe it unless they had personally witnessed it.
But it did tho work properly. There was no half
way business, for they recovered their health in a
few months.
SheumntiBm, Fever, Quinzy, Sore Throat, Cu

Inflammation, Piles, SbreEyes, Sprains, Bri.ises,

whether the Ointment that [gave them was indeed

It produced such good results in all cases that it
